2Chronicles 20:15-18 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus, says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord.
Memory Verse: For with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1:37”
If someone walked up to you now and asked you what your actual desire is, will you say nothing or will you possibly deep sigh and flip open a list thing you wish you could acquire? I think for most people, it will be the later and often the pathway and the deep sigh is almost as a result of our lack of believe in the ability to get there or achieve those things. Basically, before we say the word, it’s almost like despite knowing God is able to do all things, a tiny little bit of us thinks we’re pushing our luck, asking for such a big thing. But Is anything too hard for God?
We are like King Jehoshaphat of Judah; he definitely knew God was able to do all things, but he still managed to focus on the size of the armies who wanted to fight against him. The king was faced with something bigger than him and instead of focusing on God who is bigger than all things, he took his eyes off God and looked at the problem allowing fear to creep in but even with all that fear, he knew where his help will come from and he said “For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” 2 Chronicles 20:12.
The earth is huge and despite all the people living in it, we still see more unoccupied places than where is being occupied which means, no matter how much we try, we cannot be fully prepared for the uncertainties the world will bring our way but what we know is this, despite how big the earth is, we know that “Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool, Isaiah 66:1. therefore, as children of God, all we have to keep looking at is our father who is greater than the whole earth and has all things at his feet.
There will be problems and they will sometimes be bigger than us and its ok to see the size of the problem but it’s more important to see that God is bigger. When we see that God is bigger, the problem automatically becomes smaller because there can only be one master. So when next we are confronted with questions or situations, we can outrightly say without any doubt in our heart that we know “For with God nothing will be impossible,” Luke 1:37.
