When God Says Now Is Your Time!

Bible Text: Genesis 41:41-44  “And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him over all the land of Egypt. Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

Memory Verse: Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”

How many people reading this right now genuinely believe in waiting until God’s appointed time? Possibly all, logically but not practically. I was listening to a very interesting teaching in church a few weeks ago and the preacher spoke about the ripple effect of victory when it comes from God. He taught with so much clarity and to sum it up, I interpreted the teaching in my mind as “you can only get that outstanding effect if you have the ability to allow God sort you out in His own time”

I love Joseph’s story because it’s one of those in the bible that really goes through the lifecycle of a human being created with glory but going through various challenges in life before finally having his major breakthrough whiles waiting solidly on God’s fulfilment.

One of the many lessons about Joseph was that He kept doing what He knew how to do with God. He had the gift of interpretation of dreams and even in prison He was interpreting dreams for his fellow prisoners which ultimately lead to his breakthrough. He didn’t see the situation surrounding him and did not allow his family’s toxicity which laid the foundation to his imprisonment weigh him down, rather he focused on his assignment, waiting on God’s time to fulfill that promise revealed in his dream.

If God tells us our appointed time, then many people including myself will feel so relaxed about life and possibly do nothing whiles waiting for the appointment time. But the question beneath is, where is the joy in that? The lessons we learn while waiting on God empowers us and shapes us up spiritually and physically so that when we become victorious, we will appreciate and enjoy victory for a life time. A phrase goes you cannot have a story if you have not gone through a process.

What do you do while waiting on God for His appointed time? Yes, He will do that which He has promised to do but don’t let your impatience be the reason why your own appointment time keeps getting pushed forward. God cannot be bamboozled by man; neither can we twist his arm to do what He is not ready to do. Allowing a child force your hand to give them the keys to a fast car is setting the child up for his or her destruction or death.

The Israelites definitely got to the promised land as God promised Abraham about his descendants, but they were key participants in determining how long it took. They spent most of their time wandering in the wilderness for forty years, a journey which could have taken eleven days.

I encourage you to become more observant and mindful while waiting on Gods appointed time. I say this because though you are waiting on God, you have a part to play through to your appointed time. By two immutable things, God cannot lie, hence He will bring to fruition that which he has spoken. Learn to wait patiently on Him, it might look like its tarrying, be patient, it will come to pass.

Remember, He is the one who will make lines fall in pleasant places for you, He will make things beautiful in His time.

PRAYERS:

  • Father I thank Your promises which you have made concerning me
  • I receive the grace to wait patiently on you while you work on manifesting all plans you have for me in this year 2020
  • Help me to fully acknowledge You for direction, live above fear of uncertainties and grant me the boldness to see beyond all impossibilities but the bigger picture you are painting.
  • Forgive my iniquities Lord and let your mercy prevail over judgement
  • Thank you Father and in Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.
