God Gives Understanding!

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

Memory Verse: Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things. 2 Timothy 2:7

A lot of things in life are pretty confusing and while some people are really good with getting their head round things and figuring things out quickly, others at times need that extra time and support to get the required understanding but no matter how experienced in life one may have become, the understanding of God is greater than any human understanding. It is beautiful in such a way that you cannot really say you have an understanding of God; He outpaces man so much that He remains unpredictable.

Studying the word of God requires Gods knowledge hence it is vital to pray for understanding before you commence. Failing to do so might mean just reading it and scraping the surface, finding no meaning out of it and not unravelling the treasures; a reading instead of studying, an act which might not improve your life in any way at all. The understanding you get from the word of God is what becomes applicable to other areas of your life. This is because contrary to what people may think, the spiritual actually navigates the physical. We can spend a lot of time grinding hard, but no matter how much time we spend acquiring and achieving in the physical, it is often discovered that if one’s spiritual life is not in shape then despite all the wealth and status, there is still lack of peace.

The children of Eli are one which had no understanding of the word of God or knew Him. They were members not worshippers. Despite their positions in the house of God and generational duties being descendants of Aron, their lack of understanding of who God ruined their lives and that of their generations to come. Their spiritual understanding was at zero and while they understood the rules on the physical, they were unaware of the importance of the position they held and instead of benefitting from a situation, they took advantage of it and were burnt.

Only God is able to give us clear understanding of any and every situation. Our previous knowledge of anything can quickly become outdated and we need His direction and understanding when we approach life in general. When you have an understanding of a current situation in life, you will be able to handle such situations wisely. King Solomon knew this very early in life and this helped Him in successfully ruling over the people of Israel.

Are you still wondering why everything is the way it is in life? Speak to God to help you and give you understanding of your situation. If you can make the Lord your source, He will give you the understanding you need to handle most situations in life. While the world may not understand why you have so much peace even when your life doesn’t seem perfect, you are progressing against all odds because you have an understanding.

Focus on God! Focus on His word! Focus on spending time with Him and He will open your mind to understanding daily.
