Seek The Lord & Live!

Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel: “Come back to me and live! Don’t worship at the pagan altars at Bethel; don’t go to the shrines at Gilgal or Beersheba. For the people of Gilgal will be dragged off into exile, and the people of Bethel will be reduced to nothing.” Come back to the Lord and live! Otherwise, he will roar through Israel like a fire, devouring you completely. Your gods in Bethel won’t be able to quench the flames.

Memory Verse: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John10:10

So many things in life are confusing but the position of God in our life should not be one of those confusing things. However, finding shows that even the most devoted Christians sometimes experience turbulent winds blow in our direction which suddenly shakes our faith and threatens our happiness and this shows no one has immunity from tough times. The threats posed by the winds can sometimes be overwhelming and before we know it, people start running around seeking alternatives as to what will give them solutions to these turbulences and the list of suggestions presented by the devil and his agents are unending.

As part of this solution finding journey, we could get lost and many believers have become lost without actually realising they are. They worship at pagan alters and still somehow find a way to partially devote their time to calling on God. On this note, they worship God and combine it with other gods, a 50/50 relationship and shared time.

Such movement is very demining and is literally an insult to God who has control of every situation we are and will ever go through. When we embrace this mode of worship, we are not any different from those who have no understanding of God and as such we can still be categorized as idol worshippers.

The Lord is King over everything and everyone and to us His Children He has given authority over every other thing He created. He positioned us in a place of authority and as such nothing on earth is worth worshipping for a start. The modern day gods are not visible idols but they take the place of God in our lives and whiles they may physically look like joy givers, they actually are joy stealers because they drain our energy, emotions and take us away from the presence of God thereby positioning us in a place where we attract punishment from God and most likely a gradual separation until the relationship is totally broken or damaged.

God is a jealous God. Yes, your desire for spending so much time or even little time worshipping other gods attracts punishment, not only to your generation but likely up to four generations of yours. This practically positions your generation in debt of your sins before they are born, Exodus 20:5. The devil is aware of this fact and because he is more interested in having your generation come back to him, he finds a way to make you slip up and then the rest just keeps playing catchup trying to find solutions all their lives to what went wrong and where.

If the enemy is attacking you now as a child of God, know that because the devil cannot do anything without God’s permission then God who has the master plan permitted it for a reason and also for a season.

Whatever your reason for deviating from the presence of God, the devil is not capable of giving you any real joy and even though he may entice you, his only mission is to steal from you your salvation and move you from your way to everlasting life into spiritual death. The devil can never give you the lasting result you desire. God is inviting you back into His presence today as God is the only one capable of giving you life and that in abundance.
