“Then Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” And David said, “To buy the threshing floor from you, to build an altar to the LORD, that the plague may be withdrawn from the people.” Now Araunah said to David, “Let my lord the king take and offer up whatever seems good to him. Look, here are oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing implements and the yokes of the oxen for wood. All these, O king, Araunah has given to the king.” And Araunah said to the king, “May the LORD your God accept you.” Then the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God with that which costs me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.”
Memory verse: “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” Ephesians 1:7.
Who likes inconvenience? As an individual, I am not a interested in anything that makes life overly complicated as I believe each day presents enough to be dealt with so I’m always looking for a streamlined approach in getting things done. In all of these search for ease and comfort, I have still come to realise some things cannot be fast tracked, they just must go through the normal process.
The birth of a child must be the old fashioned way and until now there has been no alternatives however things like meal preparations have been fast tracked in so many ways. Serving and building a relationship with God has also been fast tracked with Jesus giving us the direct connection to the father through the Holyspirit.
Despite all the initiatives to make feeding with readymade meals easy, it’s clear that those who daily eat readymade meals are willing to spend a lot more on feeding as readily made meals cannot be made available to people who can’t pay the prices.
While Jesus has given us direct access, we still have to pay the price for His indwelling. Abraham whom we generally refer to as the father of faith understood that walking with God may not be easy but he was willing to sacrifice Isaac his only son to the Lord as instructed in Genesis 22 and likewise, David knew the power of and secret behind paying the right price.
Many times we really want things from God but seems that’s the only moment we spend time praying or associating with anything that has to do with God. Our lack of ability to sacrifice our time to God may just be the reason we still cannot move from point A to B with ease.
Before Jesus sacrificed Himself, every other blood that was shed were payed as prices but were still not the right price. The blood of Jesus is the right price therefore it has given us direct access to God the Father.
To have access the abundance of covenants and promises God has in stock for His children, there is a price to pay but without this we may be dwelling on something we should have moved on from.
The price to be paid may be huge and uncomfortable but so was Jesus laying down His life. Paying the right price today. Declare Him as your Lord and savior, and start to get accustomed to His ways and command.
