“So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Memory Verse: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32.
Let’s do a little exercise this afternoon! The purpose of this exercise is to establish what you truly know and how that knowledge has impacted your life. Get a piece of paper or use any electronic device within your reach and do the following:
- Write out your age?
- Write out your biggest achievements starting with what you believe to be the greatest.
- If you have a lot of them, make sure to separate them out.
- Next to each one, write out the driver of that achievement.
- Finally take the top achievement and give yourself some thinking time – What did you have to do? What was your attitude life during the process?
Once you have completed the exercise above, get another paper or device and write out:
- What do you desire?
- Have you started to work towards it?
- If not what’s the BIG showstopper?
It’s important to understand what Jesus was saying to His disciples in today’s bible reading. The words were not for the world but because sometimes the world understand the principles of the word of God more than God’s children, they get greater rewards.
It takes more than a wish or desire to do the impossible in life and most importantly today’s world. If your dreams are still on the shelf and you don’t have the courage to trust God, enough to take the bold step and help you achieve it, then you may never go through with glorifying God.
Nothing will be impossible for you is only applicable if you can be faithful enough to have faith in God to see you through. This means your faithfulness is required when challenges try to be the road blocker to your big break.
When your dreams get faced by challenges, you know that the end will be greater and this is the devil’s way of trying to ensure you don’t achieve it but if you know the truth of God’s word, then you will be confident and have unshakable faith. You will do this, knowing that “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” Philippians 1:6.
Your faithfulness is required to validate your faith if nothing will be impossible for you – That’s the truth!
