“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
Memory Verse: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” Psalms 119:105.
Have you tried speaking to a random person applying your understanding of the word of God in that conversation? Have you realised if you aren’t careful, an unbeliever could misinterpret God’s so much that it may appear to have only been relevant to those who were in the bible; making you feel like it’s not applicable anymore? If you have left a conversation feeling like this then you are not alone.
The main duty of an antichrist is to ensure they stop people from acknowledging the truth in God’s word, therefore trying to make the message of Christ irrelevant in today’s world where is even more needed than ever before.
“But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Christ, that person is not of God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed could be said to be already here.”1 John 4:3.
Apostle Paul tells us in today’s reading that not only is the word of God alive, it’s also as active. Being active means, it’s functioning and effective. It’s so powerful that it has exactly the same effect to both the older and new generation and as long as the world exist then it remains potent.
When we long to hear from God in the midst of life’s ups and downs, it means His word is our everyday solution, able and capable of meeting every of life’s problems. His word is relevant to our everyday life as it daily serves a lamp to our feet, so we don’t bash it. The lamp helps us see the part to walk in and remain on the right track.
God’s word is and will always be relevant because “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8.
