A lot of people came when they heard that Jesus was there. They also wanted to see Lazarus, because Jesus had raised him from death. So, the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus. He was the reason that many of the people were turning from them and putting their faith in Jesus.
Memory Verse : “God will bless you when people insult you, mistreat you, and tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me.” Matthew 5:11.
Why are you all of a sudden feeling so discouraged, fearful and let down? Didn’t God just prove Himself in your life recently and were you not all happy and jumpy testifying of the goodness of God to the world and telling of His mighty power? So, what has changed? For the fact that you have breath and can speak means there is hope for today and enough for tomorrow but why are you then down casted?
If the above describes you then welcome to the era of the real definition a child of God. It’s the mixed feeling and emotional rollercoaster faced by believers round the world because the devil is relentless in every way and cannot bear to see us happy. Therefore, he continues to device techniques until he gets to one that is able to keep us at a stagnant state of doubt and if we manage to escape that, he moves off to the next one.
This has and is always going to be the strategy of the devil.
Lazarus was Jesus’s friend who died from a sickness despite Jesus saying to his sisters, “Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death” John 11:4. When Lazarus died, His family went through a terrible time and just as Jesus had earlier said, Lazarus was raised four days after his death by Jesus to Glorify the name of the Lord.
The resurrection of Lazarus didn’t go down well with the Sadducees because they didn’t believe in resurrection and therefore Lazarus became a threat to them as the world saw that Jesus raised him from the dead, making their own belief invalid. The Sadducees then began to plot ways to kill Lazarus.
This is the same reason why the devil will continue to target you.
Your being alive and progressing through stages is bad news in the kingdom of hell as you then continue to be evidence that God is good. The more you progress in your relationship with God, the more battles He helps you to win and the more battles you win, the more battles you will face.
Do not be discouraged by this new battle, you are only going through this because you are a child of God and just like He won the previous battle, He will win this one too!
PRAYERS:
- Father I thank you for the this day and for the amazing things you have done for me
- Thank you for fighting my battles for me and helping me to remain strong in your faith
- I renounce reliance on my own understanding from today, help me to believe solely in you
- Help me never to give up or give in to the tacts of the enemy but to trust in you totally.
- Thank You Jesus for it is well with me
- Forgive my sins o Lord and receive my sacrifice of praise, AMEN.
