Lifeless Living!

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

Memory Verse: It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

During our just concluded bible challenge, we discussed quite a few things and not only were our eyes opened to a lot of new inspirations (rhema) we also shared and learnt from each other’s experience and a question which was worth pondering on, “How can you remain connected to God as those who worship Him must do so in Spirit ?”.

This was something I individually pondered on for a very long time as there always seem to be this struggle between the spirit and the flesh. The devil is constantly trying to steal people from the kingdom of God and even worse is that some of his tactics are not easily recognizable because we children of God seem to fall over and over again for those tricks.

When an individual falls for that trick from the devil, he drains life out of them so he can carry out his plans on their life. It’s like a mobile phone with fully charged battery being in use without any sort of recharge, before you know it the phone charges out from empty battery putting it temporarily out of use until there is some sort of power recharge.

A very interesting lesson learnt from here is that a few hours before the phone can do all things and as the battery charges out, a mobile phone which was once capable of doing all sort of beautiful things starts operating at low capacity. Some its functionalities get disabled and if there is still no power connection the battery to charge it up, it eventually goes flat and at this point the phone becomes nonfunctional. At the point the phone is turned off, there is a lot of risk associated

  1. People are not able to communicated with the individual
    2. Anyone can steal it without the owner noticing
3.There is no way of even tracing the location of the phone
4.If successfully stolen, it could have been sold or shipped to a very far country which in that case, the owner is simply unable to lay hands on it again.

There are a few people planning our lives, whiles God is planning a future and hope for us. We are planning to physically do something for ourselves but the devil is also planning something which most times we don’t know about but what we are certain is that whatever those plans are they are all targeted towards stealing, destroying and killing us. Unless we truly abide in Christ, we might find ourselves living without life.

The word abide does not reflect our one time visit to church on Sundays or seasonal relationship with God. To abide means to remain in Christ all day every, all life. It means we continually follow Jesus through the thick and thins of life. Through the good time and bad times, through pleasure and through painful seasons because anyone who is certain they are following Jesus is worshiping continually in spirit and is counted as living.

This world and everything is a temporary accommodation. What profit is it using every second of life just trying to build everything material in life knowing that those are only for the pleasures of the flesh? Whiles God has given us everything He created to dominate, we are not to get carried away like eve did seeking the pleasure of the world until she fell flat and away from grace because she followed the ways of the world rather than God’s instructions.

Jesus is the only true manna, unless you truly believe and consume the word of God in totality, you are at risk of being drained by the devil.

I urge you not to only believe alone, but to live daily with Him and for Him.

PRAYERS:

  • Father I thank you for a beautiful day
  • I rededicate my life to you Lord, I choose to live in you in place of following worldly pleasures
  • I choose life today and dedicate myself to your continuous worship and praise for the rest of my life
  • Forgive me of all my shortcomings O Lord and let your mercy prevail over judgement
  • Thank you Lord for answers to prayers, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
