How are you built?

So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.

Memory Verse: So God created human beings in his own image. Genesis 1:27a

Have you ever wondered why people are different in their behaviors and attitude? Yes we all look different facially despite being created in God’s image to look just like Him; therefore everyone on the earth looks like God no matter our skin tone, height, weight and features. This shows the awesomeness of God and in saying that why do we all behave and react differently to things? Should we not therefore all behave alike most importantly because we are Christians should we not all to an extent be alike in our thinking?

When God created man, it was with a default setting, one which we see in the life of Adam and Eve. They were operating at the default setting of God until the devil visited and began to corrupt their mind introducing things that are completely contrary to the desires of God. Whiles Eve may not have completely known the extent of damage about to be done, the devil sure knew it will be disastrous but how else do you recruit someone into your camp if they don’t buy your vision? The devil found a part of man that was plain and vacant, occupied it and made it his home Genesis 3:1-7.

Children at birth are all the same and you and I started at exactly the same point where everything is neutral but as we start to grow, our vacant magnetic mind attracts everything around the good, the bad, the positive, the negative. All of these things in our environment continue to mold us daily which is why we see children from a particular type of family only act a certain way until there are external influences involved which may then positively or negatively impact their lives.

Our default setting is neutral. We only get that opportunity two times in life at birth and at the new birth. Yes, physically at time of natural birth and spiritually when we give our lives to Christ.

The spiritual has advantages over the physical because at the time of giving our lives to Christ most of us are mature and know right from wrong then with the help of the Holyspirit, we begin to drop the bad thinking, habits, behaviors, way of life and the rest alike contrary to the doctrines of Christ. We continue on this course until we start acting Christ-like (Christians).

When you become born again, you are born into the family of God where other genuine believers exist. This gives you an opportunity to build a solid foundation though learning from and being encouraged by those who are already grounded and personally associated with Christ in your new family bearing in mind that Christ Is the cornerstone.

Apostle Paul reminds us that we as believers are part of the temple of the Lord. Each believer from giving your life to Christ becomes a piece of the puzzle of the temple of God and you are built to fit into that temple else what we have is a building with a lot of gaps.

We are the temple of God and that’s our build. The Holyspirit is our guide and therefore will continue to teach us all we need to do to continue to be part of the temple.
