Development Through Trials!

“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

Memory Verse: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.” Isaiah 43:2

Is life not just a mixture of all? Never has there been in the history a man or an individual who goes through the journey of life with just nothing to worry about. The term worry positions itself as very unique to each individual in the view that what seems a big deal to one may feel like a piece of cake to handle for another person. In light of this, a common attribute we all share as human beings is that we all have one thing or the other we are battling with.

I have personally wondered why some people’s lives looks so perfect but the reality of things is that unless someone shares their most private life with you, it’s easy to assess them as having a smooth journey, desire a life like theirs and even began to use them a daily prayer point reference of how we want our lives to be. This is simply because we have a glimpse of the outer layer of their life but know no what lays beneath. We see ourselves crying to God daily not because we would have naturally wanted those things but because we see it looks good on others, we therefore automatically imagine ourselves the same and from here the journey of worry begins.

The start to end of our lives is determined by God. Our placement into the family we are born into is as a result of God’s strategic positioning to achieve that which He created us for. Should we have had a choice, without doubt everyone will chose to be born into royalty, wealth and fame but even those born into those are not exempted from the tribulations of life just as being a child of God does not give you or myself absolute immunity from facing tough times.

The ideal world is always different from the reality of life but as a child of God we know that even when we go through the most difficult times in life, God is using that stage in our life to develop us in various ways but most of those we never really pay attention to because of the current circumstances which is often unbearable.

As we journey through life, it’s important to understand what the word of God is saying about our current situation and key into in without doubting in our faith.

The only sure thing is the word of God which is our only source of encouragement. God is not man to sweet talk us in an attempt to raise our hope and dash it. In every situation and at every point in life, His love is greater than any challenge we face and instead of looking at the current challenges as a route to a down fall, let’s view it more as a development stage and take advantage of this stage to build ourselves for that progression ahead. Remember God already promised that through the fire and water storms, He will be there with you.

There is something to learn in every stage we go through in life but only our attitude will determine if we develop through challenges or not. There is no progression without a test.
