“Then Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt; and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the animals. Then there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again. But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.”

Have you ever wondered why two people earning the same income, paying out the exact same bills and with similar miscellaneous expenses to cover, seem to end the month differently with one of them struggling and the other thriving?
Not everything is the will of God and most importantly God’s will for His children is crystal clear. Unfortunately, this statement may differ for anyone yet to choose God as a Father; such person has no access to biblical promises God made to his children and neither is the person covered by the biblical terms or conditions.
Having a clear understanding of His word is crucial, we know a few things; firstly according to Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” And secondly, Isaiah 61:6 “But you shall be named the priests of the Lord, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory you shall boast.”
Between those two verses, we come to know that God according to His promises, gives each of His children a future full of hope and we are supposed to eat the riches of the gentiles. The question is, why is this not happening?
In today’s bible reading, we see that God makes clear distinctions between those that are His and the scripture further shows that while the Egyptians were crying and burying all their first born, the Israelites remained untouched. These were two tribes of people who lived in the same land yet God clearly made the world see those who were His.
There is a trial phase where God let’s things happen to His children to strengthen them according to James1:2-4 but we also know that in those times, God is always with us and will never let us be tested beyond what we can bear Isaiah 43:2, 1Corinthians 10:13.
Any phase more than our God allowed trial and temptation phase might mean we are operating out of his radar. We as Christ’s errs are by default supposed to be basking in God’s glory and if that’s not happening, we need to check out if we are still within God’s will.
Gods real children cannot be classified as a no body and as a father He has made provision for all Hus children but the question to ask is – am I a child of God or a follower of the world?

- Father thank you for calling me, for making me part of the chosen generation
- Thank you for your unending mercies and your loving kindness.
- Make me distinctive Lord, help me to stand out amongst crowds
- Help me to walk with you daily Lord, live my life for you and place you at the centre of it all
- Draw me nearer to you Lord, I desire to know you more and the power of your resurrection.
- Help me to hear clearly when you are speaking and not hear the voice of strangers
- Forgive me Lord of all my iniquities, bless me abundantly and make me a blessing unto others, in Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen
