Where Do You Serve?

“Now it happened, as He was dining in Levi’s house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Memory Verse: “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15.

It’s usually very interesting when you attend a church event or regular Sunday service. One of the first set of people you will notice are those on duty (the workers). In most churches these days, they usually identify wearing a special uniform or special Colour for the day, It’s difficult to miss a worker. Their responsibility for the day is to serve in the household of God, but once they exit the building, they go about their business as usual, leaving the works back in the building.

Those who serve in this manner either do not have an understanding or are serving their pastors. When God sent his disciples out, they were not told to go into the temple to read from the scroll and explain its meaning to the people currently there, they were sent into the world.

Anyone in a church setting either willing or not has an opportunity to be touched by the Holyspirt as they are already rightly positioned. They may be sick, but they are already in the hospital and will be seen by the Physicians, but those in the world are sick . They are the people by the pool of Bethesda “In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.” John 5:3 and  even worse is that like the man who had been there thirty- eight years, they have no one to help them because we have a lot of church workers and not Christ workers.

Your work as a believer is incomplete if you cannot serve others. Believers  are not called to just serve in the church but to serve others as the Church. Jesus whom we are all looking up to was constantly serving others while also attending the temple and if we are truly following the ways of Christ, then we know that He loves and does His deeds towards everyone, so therefore He wants all to come to Him.

Ask yourself today: Who do you really serve, your church or God.

You cannot make real impact as a church worker but as a God worker , you can make life changing impact through soul winning and brining people to the knowledge of God.

“praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:47.
