The Wages Of Faith In God!

“God promised Abraham and his descendants that he would give them the world. This promise wasn’t made because Abraham had obeyed a law, but because his faith in God made him acceptable. If Abraham and his descendants were given this promise because they had obeyed a law, then faith would mean nothing, and the promise would be worthless.”

Memory verse: But without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and rewards everyone who searches for him. Romans 11:6

We all like some sort of reward or I’ll like to believe that people love to be rewarded for that which they see as important to them.

Most people don’t take volunteering positions and whiles some people may say I don’t mind working for free or helping here and there, the reality of it all is that people would still love some sort of compensation for the time spent carrying out a task or an activity. The downside to not being rewarded is that over a period of time, commitments begin to decline. A question is why?

This is because there is nothing to motivate them any longer as the first rush soon declines and they now the desire to seek more from life shows up.

This is the case with most things in life. The bible says the wage (reward) of sin is death ,Romans 6:23. The wages (reward) of believing in God is that we will not perish but have eternal life, John 3:16. The wages (reward) of living by the sword is that those people will die by the sword, Matthew 26:52. The wages (reward) of faith in God as seen by the bible is that we are heirs to the promises of God.

The bible tells us something very interesting about father Abraham in Romans 4:18-19 “God promised Abraham a lot of descendants. And when it all seemed hopeless, Abraham still had faith in God and became the ancestor of many nations.  Abraham’s faith never became weak, not even when he was nearly 100 years old. He knew he was almost dead and that his wife Sarah could not have children.

When we say we are children of God, we could earn the reward of faith if we stay true to the word of God, but we could also be children of God but never really be rewarded for faith because we don’t have the level of faith required to see the manifestation of the wonders of God. The yeast for fulfilment of God’s promise is “FAITH” and if you want to get rewarded you must remain in “Faith”.
