The Safest Place To Be!

Bible Text: Psalms 91:1-5  “Whoever goes to the LORD for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to him, “You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust.” He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases. He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you. You need not fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day”.

Memory Verse: Psalms 46:1 “God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”

Safety and security are key elements in the everyday life of all living beings on earth and alongside other factors, they could most times be the main drivers behind crucial decisions people make in life. The fear of what might happen if the future is not secured makes people relocate to a certain parts of the word where they believe they possess greater possibilities and higher probabilities of thriving, people even go further investing in high value assets they think will give them the extra peace of mind and security, all is done to increase net worth and wealth levels. With all these acquirement, some good base of safety and security is felt to have been established. Although it is impossible to say this is totally wrong, but when material acquirement fails where do you turn to? Where should you have placed your safety in the first instance? Stocks do crash, natural disasters destroy real estates, gold loses value at times, would you really say all these are long term safety and security?

Though security gives peace of mind to those that seek it, there is no guarantee that you find peace when the unexpected happens. I was having a conversation with an insurance adviser and it dawned on me that yes you might purchase the highest level of insurance cover, but insurance cover is only able to pay out when you get into crises. My questions for you today are, would you rather be protected from crises? or be protected in and when the crisis has caused damages?

The first emotion Christ showed while on earth and still shows now in spirit to anyone He connects with is compassion. He was consistent in showing us that He brings unconditional safety and security to our world in general, we don’t have to pay up any premiums, all we have to do is accept Him as our Lord and savior, this was the original purpose Christ came to the world, the main reason why He died for us on the cross, for we can be eternally safe and secure.

The initial fallen state of man automatically pushes us out of the secured location God originally created for our us, Genesis 3:23. Man was driven out of the Garden of Eden hence from birth man is automatically subjected to the judgment God pronounced in Genesis 3:16-19 but you and I are under the mercy of God through the blood of Jesus and should no longer have to be condemned. Accepting Him, means having the greatest safety and security no man or blue chip company can produce. Dwelling in His secret place and abiding under is shadows outweighs every level of security and safety crafted by man. Don’t get wrong as this is not a discouragement from having life covers and health insurances should you want to, this is just telling us that God is the giver of ultimate protection, one which cannot be affected by natural forces or causes, a safety and security that will last forever and is guaranteed.

The bible verse for today gives complete clarity in Psalm 91:1. You have a part to play in your own safety and that’s to go to the Lord yourself and remain under His protection. God loves us to be on the winning side, but He is not soliciting for quantity to occupy space, He wants us to make the choice out of many which seem available these days. Choosing to partner with Him means you be guaranteed safety from all hidden dangers which are most times not visible to man. Remember He is the alpha and Omega, He knows the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning. He sees all even before they happen. He is the all-knowing God.

The minute you leave God alone, is the moment you step out from under His protection and being out means your cover is no longer valid and have put yourself at risk. The devil is not one to mess about, He is roaming the earth looking to steal, to kill and to destroy. Get covered, don’t put yourself at risk. John 10:10.
