“Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
Memory Verse: 1 Samuel 2:30b “But I will honor those who honor me, and I will despise those who think lightly of me.”
Royal events are glamourous, and if you have ever attended one or caught a glimpse by watching one, you will realise how much honor is bestowed on the royalties. Individually, I have never been invited to one, but I’ve been on palace tours in different countries and also been to palaces for royalty visits. What I realised on my visits about royal settings is that although palaces are beautiful with quite a host of maids, every palace has its own uniqueness, the atmosphere in the palace is that of Honour and conveys authority.
Looking at the life of King David, King Solomon and King Ahasuerus, it is very easy to sense that royalty comes with a lot of honour. David was able to just order Bathsheba like a meal 2 Samuel 11:2-4, Solomon was able to successfully marry 700 wives from royal families and even had 300 concubines 1kings 11:3. When King Ahasuerus was ready to replace Queen Vashti, various virgins were placed under Hagias’s care for 12 months beauty treatment before appearing to the king as a potential queen, Esther 2:12. If the kings on earth could command such honour and respect, how much more the king of kings.
Enjoying your relationship with God comes from the level of respect and honour you have for His name and His word. Without any doubt we know that even though God is the king of all Kings, He is a very fair God. He even decided within him to honour those who honour Him even though our responsibility as a child is to honour Him as a father.
While a lot of people mistake Wealth with honour, the reality is kings are not usually the wealthiest but God has given them something that surpasses wealth in the name of “Honour”. God takes the issue of honour very seriously and as such we see that even amongst earthly children and parents, He gave a command to and attached a two blessing with children honoring their father and mother Ephesians 6:12.
The position of God in our lives should be non-negotiable and while some people may try to convince themselves that they definitely honour God, every aspect of their lives show the opposite of their words, Matthew 15:18. Honoring God is not a word to be spoken, it’s something to be expressed in our everyday lives. Literally when people see you as a child of God, they should be able to know that your way of life and everything about you honour God. That’s why the scripture questions, “If you truly are a child of God, then where is the honour you for Him? Malachi 1:6.
Our lives belong to God because of who He is and what He has done. He deserves the greatest honour than any human that lives, or have ever lived. No matter what and where you find yourself in life, God is to be honored above everything else. Your position when it comes to respecting God should be non-negotiable.
The name of Jesus has been given every authority in heaven and earth and you have been given a choice on what type of relationship you desire to have with God. Would you not love it if God honors you?

It doesn’t matter what the situation is saying, Jesus reigns supreme and when the world understands the place of honour and how to honour Him, the creator of everything, then at His time, He will make all things beautiful.

Truly Jesus must be honored. Who else should we honor if not HIM. A great message to make one realize one of the purpose we are on this Earth. Awesome ?
This is a truly inspiring devotion. Many of us are drowned in the problems of lifes and as such have now replaced men who we see as our helper with God.
