You Have Everything It Takes!

“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone.  He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.

Read Matthew 25:14-30

Memory verse: Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth”, Matthew 28:18.

I love excellence and when I see people doing so well at something, the first question that crosses mind is, how did they achieve this fine brilliance? As I being to think deeper, looking at various options, I get to discover a few things, one of which is the fact that we all have individual baselines in terms of the ability embedded in us; but we diversify at different stages. Ultimately we have all been created with something special, that uniqueness that completes a world puzzle, 1 Corinthians 12:12

The parable Jesus told of the three servants in Matthew 25:14-30 is one which enlightens us about the life of every human created of God. We all have a piece of money entrusted us in terms of a responsibility and expectation. The parable makes it clear that the master called his servants and distributed to them funds based on their abilities and whiles some may have five and another one talent of silver, the bible did not record of any of the servant as having no ability at all; they all had something.

While we don’t know why a servant was given ten and the other servant one, but what we see is that the master had no issues about their abilities but managed them all based on it. So therefore there was little room for intentionally making them fail. The concluding part of the text tells us how two of the servants then went ahead to invest the portion given to them and multiplied their silvers while the third servant hid the only one talent given to him and made no gain.

This passage is like to the life of every human created by God. Our Creator knows our abilities therefore if He has entrusted something in your care, it’s because He knows you have everything it takes to make a success out of it. He has equipped you with the relevant resources but often your mindset is what makes the tasks a failure. Whiles there are a few things to note here, there is a big difference between you setting yourself up on a plan expecting God to fit in and God giving you a plan.

One of the benefits of walking according to God’s plan is that He makes it successful but if you set up one without God, you may have exaggerated it, thinking you have the ability for five when you can only manage two in which case you may be setting yourself up for failure.

When God created man, He blessed us all the ability to be fruitful in all we do and multiply Genesis 1:28. When Jesus was going to leave the earth, He gave us p         ower and authority Matthew 28:18 then commanded us to make disciples of nations, (fruitful and multiply). He likewise added the bonus of the Holy spirit to teach and remind us about the word of God John 14:26.

Between God’s blessing, Jesus’s gift and the Holy spirit in us, I am confident that that every child of God has everything it takes to deliver their God given assignment.

We are all on assignment for the father and you have everything it takes to progress and achieve the expected task. Don’t get stuck trying to run another man’s race, be confident in God knowing that you may not have been created with the ability to manage five bags of silver but if you diligently invest the two bags of silver you have been given with the level of ability you are created with, you will multiply and make increase, possibly acquiring two or more bags.

The decision is yours, will you hide the one bag of silver and eventually have nothing, or will you begin to invest that which the Lord has put in your care.
