So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged”, Mathew 7:1-2.

One would have thought treating others right should come natural to man, after all we have repeatedly read from the scriptures that God created every single human in His own image and no one is more superior than the other. Despite continuous sermons and conversations on loving one another, unfair treatment is still something that is extremely common in the world we live in today. When I was into people management, the first value instilled in us was to ensure our staffs understood the company values, one of which was “Treat others how you like to me treated”.
It’s really that simple; you should treat others exactly how you will like to be treated. Unfortunately, people regardless of faith and religion easily gets carried away, once a certain position is attained or a level in life is reached, people start seeing themselves as more important than the other person. This is a very common behavior in the part of the world I grew up in but the question is, what drives this behavior?
Jesus spent a good time of His life teaching and serving others. In Mark 10: 42-45, Jesus teaches His disciples the difference between those who belong to the world and those who belong to Him. Those in the world will flaunt their authority and lord over people, but those in the Christ will and cannot partake in behaviors like that. If Christ is truly our standard, then we see that He was not interested in judging others or making them feel any inferior. He did everything out of compassion and treated everyone with respect and love till the point of death.
Before speaking to someone, ask yourself “How will i feel if someone spoke to me like that?” The environment you live in is not an excuse for your behavior as we see in Genesis 6:8-9, Noah did not blend in into all the ungodly behavior happening around Him so yes it is possible to be different in every area of your life including how you treat others.
I implore you to look back and see how you have been treating others, ask God for help to follow His teaching of love and make a conscious effort to treat others right.

- Father I thank you for an amazing morning
- Thank you for the journey of my life, for where I am, where I used to be and where you are taking me to
- I am sorry for the ways I have ill-treated others and dealt unfairly in my decisions about others
- Help me from today O Lord to teat others fairly and with love
- Remove every hatred and wrongdoings in me, help me to live right
- Forgive me all my sins O Lord and let your mercy prevail over judgement
- Thank you Lord for answers to prayers, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
