Life Goes Too fast!

Look here, you who say, Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit. How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that. Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil.

Memory Verse: Mark 8:36-37, And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?

A writer once said, “life is like a Lamborghini, it goes too fast, no wonder peter pan didn’t want to grow up”. Waking up this morning, something really interesting popped up my mind; only a few years ago I was this teenager trying to find my path in life, it all just seem like yesterday and looking at today, I am a wife and mother; goodness where did time go? While I am busy writing new year resolutions and working hard towards achieving them amidst of other things, year on year have passed on, time has gone and is going by so fast without even noticing it. At times it’s funny how day by day nothing seems to change but when I look back, everything is different. God is indeed marvellous in the way He crafted life, I pray he helps me live a good one and leave a good legacy in the end.

Having thought about life going really quick, a question closed that thought “but what are you really doing with your time on earth?” This question is rhetorical and applies to all of us. Even if you and I live until 100 years in life, there comes a time when we will just look back and imagine what we have achieved, thoughts of what we really did with our life comes to perspective. While some people might be able to give a good account like Apostle Paul did saying “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.” 2 Timothy 4:7 others might not be able to give an accurate account of what they have done with their life or achieved in life. Everything is vanity, but God has called us to live a purpose driven life.

In Rick warrens book titled “what on earth am I here for” – The purpose driven life, He laid good emphasis on something very interesting “You were made by God and for God and until you understand that, life will make no sense”. That took a while to sink in but once it did, my whole perspective about life changed.

The things that looks all flowery and seem like the most important in life, were attributed to vanity by that wise King Solomon. He described them as “completely meaningless” Ecclesiastes 1:2, yet those are the things that seem to occupy the 24hrs of our everyday life. It’s quite interesting we don’t even get to notice, take account or time to reflect; all because time is going so fast we feel we still have forever to live it.

The truth remains, once you leave God out of the picture in your life, you begin to live a completely meaningless life. The world begins to dictate your standard and pace and you get so immersed in the things of the word and lose yourself completely. Without doubt you acquire a lot of things to give you happiness, but you don’t really have that joy and complete peace which can be found in Christ alone.

If you are still procrastinating on when to truly surrender your life to God then I tell you this, time waits for no one! Tomorrow might be too late because no one is guaranteed the next minute. Jesus was only about 33 years old when His mission on earth completed, do you know your time of completion? Has it been made known to you that which God has purposed your for? If not, please find it in by turning to Christ.

Who knows what tomorrow holds? James 4:-13, the parable of the rich fool shows us a man who spent all his time on earth gathering earthy possession yet He did not enjoy everything he worked so hard gathering because His purpose on earth was fulfilled and God took his life at the point where his focus was much on himself and how he will enjoy all the wealth he had gathered. He used all his time gathering and had no solid relationship with God Luke 12:13-24.

Life is empty without God
Genesis 1:2.“Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” Luke 12:21 . Be wise, Do not waste your life!
