The Peril of Adultery
5 My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
[a]Lend your ear to my understanding,
2 That you may [b]preserve discretion,
And your lips may keep knowledge.
3 For the lips of [c]an immoral woman drip honey,
And her mouth is smoother than oil;
4 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.
5 Her feet go down to death,
Her steps lay hold of [d]hell.
6 Lest you ponder her path of life—
Her ways are unstable;
You do not know them.
7 Therefore hear me now, my children,
And do not depart from the words of my mouth.
8 Remove your way far from her,
And do not go near the door of her house,
9 Lest you give your [e]honor to others,
And your years to the cruel one;
10 Lest aliens be filled with your [f]wealth,
And your labors go to the house of a foreigner;
11 And you mourn at last,
When your flesh and your body are consumed,
12 And say:
“How I have hated instruction,
And my heart despised correction!
13 I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers,
Nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!
14 I was on the verge of total ruin,
In the midst of the assembly and congregation.”
15 Drink water from your own cistern,
And running water from your own well.
16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad,
[g]Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be only your own,
And not for strangers with you.
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice with the wife of your youth.
19 As a loving deer and a graceful doe,
Let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
And always be [h]enraptured with her love.
20 For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman,
And be embraced in the arms of a seductress?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord,
And He [i]ponders all his paths.
22 His own iniquities entrap the wicked man,
And he is caught in the cords of his sin.
23 He shall die for lack of instruction,
And in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

In this chapter,the Lord is telling us to stay away from adultery and be satisfied with our spouses. Adultery is very bad. It makes the work of our hands not fruitful. In order for us to live long,we have to here the instructions that comes out of the mouth of God. For God said,if we do not listen to his words we shall die of lack of instructions.
So,in whatever we do,we should stay away from sin cos it keeps us entrapped round its arm. We should abide in God so that He will about in us.
This is a chapter that points out about the danger in associating with a promiscuous act which only leads to total destruction.
Summarizing this section is a reminder that God knows and sees all things. A common thread in adultery is secrecy, but that’s not possible in the eyes of an omniscient Creator. Another common thread is regret over consequences. Once adultery has been committed, it cannot be undone. God can—and will—forgive those who seek Him. But that forgiveness does not change the past. The damage to relationships, reputations, and bodily health are real, and those who ignore godly advice are liable to find this out the hard way
In this chapter, the Lord is warning his children about the dangers of the “strange woman” (probably another man’s wife), and, on the flip side, encourages them to enjoy their own wives. The chapter ends with a statement about the wicked and how they will die for their sins.
This chapter tells us about promiscuous act and its danger to our lives. Shalom…… Peace
This is given us a commendation to yield to instruction and directions of a mentor or a teacher. Secondly it’s given a warning to stay away from a promiscuous life and a strange woman. Sticking to one youthful life alone with all faithfulness. God can forgive a sinner but the wicked will surely be punish. Lastly those that reject Intruction shall surely fall into trap of deception
This chapter further more tells us about the gain in having wisdom and keeping Gods words, with Gods words in our heart, we cannot go astray.
It also tells us that God see and knows everyone and everything, don’t think he doesn’t know anything about you or he has forgotten you, he sees and knows all
This chapter tells us to be content, satisfied with serving God, don’t go looking for what is not, trust in God, believe in his words, listen to his instructions and keep them in your heart
Finally it tells us about the fatal danger in Adultry, not being satisfied with one God given partner or his will for us, it makes things difficult. We should be content, follow his instruction for our life and keep to his words

There are two things we see about wisdom : wisdom comes from listening, the father continuously encourages his children to listen to his word, the key to having the wisdom needed to live in this world is found in listening, we as parents needs to tea h our children to listen to instruction, teach to listen to God and we should teach these children by example, our action speaks louder than voice,understanding wisdom and learning discernment will save our children lives,because wisdom gives life and the beginning of such wisdom is the fear of the Lord, let’s parents teach their children how to really live their lives for the glory of God.

As parents, we should teach our children to be students of the Bible by being a student of the Bible yourself. Teach your children to guide their hearts by guiding your hearts yourself, God will help us in Jesus name
Proverb 4:24 vers 24 tell us to watch our words,the Bible warn us to be careful with words that we say,our words can bring both life and death, by example parents should we teach them to watch their words,encourage them as well, teach them how to listen more than they speak, teach them to guide their tongues.
