We Produce Differently!

But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Read Mathew 13: 1-8

Memory Verse: And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability Matthew 25:15

Productivity and fulfillment is a massive target for everyone and the main reason behind why majority of people continue striving to make it. In light of this,  it is important to ask “by what do we measure success?”

The world measures success in various ways but the most obvious way in which many measure wealth is through material possessions. As a result, many individuals, Christians inclusive, have been and will continue to beat ourselves down because there is this believe of us not being productive because we lack certain things deemed essential in life. As children of God, we need to come to a realization that we cannot have everything in life and our view of success needs to have an overhaul, all for our own good. The measure of our success needs to be defined by God not through standards set by men.

Today’s bible verse is an extract from the parable of the sower which Jesus shared in Matthew 13. It talks about a sower who went out to sow on various soils, though some seeds did fall by the way side, some fell on stony places and others amongst thorns. All of these seeds did not yield any crops because they all fell on wrong grounds. Interestingly, even the seeds that fell on good grounds did not all yield exactly the same quantity of crops. The bible records that the seeds yielded in different folds, some in hundred, some sixty and some thirty folds.

Though not all those seeds yielded hundred folds, that didn’t make them any less productive.

The seed only yielded the capacity at which they could and because they reproduced, Jesus did classify them as seeds which fell on good grounds and yielded increase; they were successful seeds. Just like those seeds which fell on good grounds, we as human beings and children of God all have our capacities, different from each other and unless God Himself increases our individual yielding capacity, the world will only continue to make us feel we have not yielded because we have not reached a certain level or acquired some certain things in life.

God has given us all abilities in different forms and as a child of God we may not all yield hundred folds but if God has created us with the capacity to yield to that extent then it will happen. The good news is, at which ever capacity we have been created with, we can still continue to comfortably reproduce.

There is danger in human comparison, understanding how Gods works with you and being contented with it is of great gain, 1Timothy 6:6.
