There Is A Prophecy To Be Fulfilled!

“And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;”

Memory verse: “But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.” Mark 13:23

Many people have been invited to various functions in which prophetic declarations have been pronounced and the congregation shouts a resounding Amen in response to what the leader of the functions pronounces but with limited understanding of such prophetic declaration. For many it’s just a statement they key into with an exception that each word is backed up by God. There is no bad in this but without a good understanding the prophecy and its potency, we could potentially be setting up ourselves for success or failure.

The general definition of a prophecy is an utterance about the future inspired by a God or a “god”. The definition of the word suggests a god which clearly shows that prophecy is not about being a Christian or not but when the word goes out, it’s backed up by gods or God depending on who the speaker of the word believes in.

There’s is therefore danger in keying into every prophetic word we hear and read unless we are truly sure of the sources. Prophecy talks about the future so therefore there is nothing that’s happening in the world today that is not been spoken about before or previously. Even before Jesus was born, there had been prophecies about His birth, His coming into the world,  His mission on earth Isaiah 7:14 and even interestingly the location of birth Micah 5:2.

Every word that goes out of the man of God inspired by God about the future is to be fulfilled so we see today that Jesus talking about the word which had been said about unbelievers. Even their response, state of mind and attitude towards the word of God had already been spoken of before it came into manifestation and at such their lack of knowledge about prophecy is not a determining factor in whether the prophecy will come to pass or not.

The more we walk with God and study His word, the more understanding we will have about prophecies and the understanding of them. This is because every word sent out by God which has not been fulfilled will be eventually fulfilled, Isaiah 55:11.

Our walk with God will help us understand the difference between the countless non biblical predictions out there, the various misinterpretation of the scriptures and the prophecies of God. Jesus has warned us against being deceived but also we are to be aware that there is a prophecy to be fulfilled at every given time so therefore it is important to be rightly positioned with God.

Today is not an accident, tomorrow has been predicted but we cannot predict the exact time prophetic events will happen so our position is to be focused on God.
