“Don’t be misled, you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
Memory verse: Ecclesiastes 3:1, “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”
Good morning and I hope you are having a refreshing year so far? Resolutions still in check and things looking hopeful? The most important of all is that we have life and look forward in a new season of God’s promised future and hope according to Jeremiah 29:11.
As January 2021 is wrapping up, what do you see ahead? Do you see a new season? This world is governed by seasons; spring, summer, autumn and winter, all of which has a way of determining the course of events that take place and God has purposed it that way for a reason.
So also our lives operate in line with seasons; yesterday, today and tomorrow. Our Lord Jesus operated with seasons and as it is written, He has fulfilled all He came to do on earth and He sent us the Holy spirit so we can live for today while He goes to God to prepare a place for us, so where He is, we can be also. From a futuristic perspective, we are still expecting His return tomorrow, a moment which no man knows ass it could be the next minute.
Just as a house looks radiant as a finished product, the foundation, bricklaying, plastering, fittings were all done across seasons. Bearing this in mind, it is therefore important to remember that our tomorrow is often shaped by our today. When Jesus spoke to the criminal nailed to a cross on His side, His statement made it so clear there is definitely a tomorrow for everyone after death as a result of His own death, Luke 23:43 “And Jesus replied, I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
It’s a season of spiritual awakening which calls for letting go of your yesterday so that you can also have a place in paradise like the fellow spoken about. Yes Jesus has paid the price through sacrifice but not everyone will occupy a place paradise. It’s the time to Invest in your tomorrow. Start today by living for Him, an act which secures a place for you in paradise.
As we continue celebrating Christ in our everyday lives, today is another opportunity to reflect and self examine our positions with God. Some of the most important decisions in life are often made in a rush which can often lead to dissatisfaction but we as Children of God have everything it takes to align with His purpose for our lives.
As a result of Christ dying for us on the cross to bring us salvation and etetrnal life, let us while there is still time, take advantage of this moment and reconnect to God the Father.
