Don’t Stop praying!

One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests! Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?

Memory Verse: The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18,

Prayer is a sincere communication with God! By grace, we are able to just talk to Him like a Father every day all day about anything and everything. Most people often think they can only let Him in when they need something or have been impacted by things in life but over the years I have begun understanding that God, just like the big situations is also interested in the things we think are not important. He is interested in everything about you without leaving any details out and you will just be surprised how much your Father in Heaven is willing to help you through your situations when you call on Him.

God desires to know us better and while we may think He is far up in heaven and possibly busy doing other things, you will be surprised just how interested He is in your everyday life, how He is everywhere and has the capacity to take on the whole world’s requests and fulfill them.

The way we relate with God depends on How we see Him and where we position Him in our lives. The only way to truly build a close relationship is by constant communication and the more we communicate, the more the other person understand what’s truly important to us. Often in physical situations where we have a close pal we communicate with frequently on a heart to heart basis, we’ll see that even in our absence that person selflessly fights our corners where needed without being told to do so because they know and understand us. Just like God fights our battles known and unknown, our relationship with God can be liken to that even though we are physical and our spirit man links up with Him through fervent prayers. Although He knows everything not limited to our wants, needs, heart desires and those little things we are thinking of, He still wants us to talk to Him continually without ceasing and in all seasons, 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Today’s bible verse sheds light on just how much we ought to pray. Jesus told His disciples this story to encourage them as always but something stood out with the woman, she kept going back to the judge. Many times we go to the Lord expecting Him to fix us and give a response to our needs but He just continues to see just how much we truly need Him. While some see prayer as a short cut and if God doesn’t answer on time they find alternative means, some see God as the only way and God really appreciates those who see Him as the only way.

The widow who needed help was never giving up and if anything was clear, she kept going back to that same judge. I don’t know if there were other judges who could have maybe hear her case and appeal on her behalf but she was going day and night crying until the judge decided to give her justice. The woman had faith and she was confident that this was her only option and as such she maintained consistency.

IS God your only option?

Does your communication with Him reflect that? I encourage you today never to give up. The relationship we build with God should not be because of what we intend to benefit from Him. A sound and genuine relationship helps us to trust in God totally and even when it seems He has not granted your heart desire yet; we keep on communicating till He does. He is always working in our best interest even when you and I can’t see the physical manifestation.

I encourage you today to pray without ceasing because the effectual fervent prayers of a genuine Christian is rewarding.
