Your Result Driven By Your Obedience!

After they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph and said, “Herod will be looking for the child in order to kill him. So, get up, take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you to leave.” Joseph got up, took the child and his mother, and left during the night for Egypt, where he stayed until Herod died. This was done to make come true what the Lord had said through the prophet, “I called my Son out of Egypt.”

Memory Verse:

“If you obey the Lord your God and faithfully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, he will make you greater than any other nation on earth.” Deuteronomy 28:1.

What is your expected result from what you are currently planning? Most people who make plans don’t spend time planning to fail but with the intention to succeed. Having been satisfied with the plan, they then go ahead to implement. During task completion, it is however important to ensure that the right step is followed, else the whole process could become a disaster leading the plat to fail.

As a child, I learnt to cook just almost naturally because I saw my mum do it and really, she did it effortlessly, so I just picked up the skills from mirroring what mum did but something I had to learn and I’m still learning is baking. Most times when I have to bake anything at all, I go online to see the list of ingredients then go shopping. What’s very important for me is that I make sure to buy exactly what’s needed for my baking session i.e., if unsalted block butter is required, I don’t buy salted spreadable butter just because I feel like it. The end result will differ from what I intend to achieve. This is because of the decision to tweak the ingredients.

The Journey to achieving success in life is pretty much the same and as a Christian. While there is grace it’s important to understand that Grace does not mean magic. When The Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, the instruction was clear “So get up, take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you to leave.” and Joseph Obeyed immediately”. Joseph got up, took the child and his mother, and left during the night for Egypt”

Some people may have decided to wait till morning or even concluded that since Jesus was born to be Saviour. Why should they run away from King Herod? Joseph trusted and obeyed God, he did not only follow the instructions, but he followed every detailed step of it. Joseph left for Egypt that midnight.

We cannot succeed with partial obedience; we may achieve what seems close but not the real end result.

So, if we say we are working with the Lord, we need to ensure we obey to the letter.
