Your Advantage Over The Devil!

“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”

Memory verse: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11

For a fact, many happenings in this world can at times be scary; even for Christians and I say this because we constantly see things from the ways of the world making it very easy to assume the devil has authority over all. As children of God who study His world, we ought to stand strong and not be dazed by these happenings, we should understand by now that God has “ALL” the authority both in heaven and on earth. The Devil might flex, but if God doesn’t permit, then that remains the final say. The scriptures according to Matthew 28:18 tells us “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”.

There is a difference between having complete authority and having tricks. The devil has a few tricks up his sleeves and because he has no salvation, strength and power, he goes about angrily accusing us before God day and night wanting to use his tricks to steal our salvation, kill and destroy us completely. A good question to ask is why is he continuously trying to do all these if he had advantage over us?

We have many advantages over the devil. Through the blood Jesus shed on the cross for our salvation, we can boldly and confidently go to the throne of grace and obtain mercy. We no longer have to hide from the presence of God like Adam and Eve did Genesis 3:8. Likewise, the full price has been paid and Jesus used His blood as a onetime sacrifice so we can be redeemed “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” Ephesians 1:7

The devil’s destructive and relentless effort is over the children of God because he knows we have advantage over him. The devil may be able to stand in the presence of God to accuse us but he does not know the mind of God. Another advantage is that we have the Holyspirit as our direct link to God who reveals all things to us and because of this we can speak in mystery when we speak to God cutting the devil out completely from our conversation through speaking in tongues. The bible reveals in in 1 Corinthians 14:2 that “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.”

The devil has no authority and therefore if we are on the Lords side, we are under the leadership of the one who has all authority.
