Seek the Lord!

“I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.”

Memory Verse: “Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. I Chronicles 22:19a

What passage of the bible comes easily to you when you need something from God? One of the most common one for me comes from Mathew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” and with this in mind we present our requests to God.

Whiles this is not wrong in itself, it denotes we have shifted our attention from seeking God to using His word to back up our never-ending list of wants. Most people will attend to and be more involved in conventions targeted towards provision, success & deliverance over faith and Godly relationships. Any flyer with #hashtags containing taking/ receiving from God will generally attract people numerically in the thousands than one just focused on knowing God and this is because the devil understands the greed that drives men to God. The devil then positions his agents everywhere as false prophets to deceive the hearts of men with magics and tricks.

Magic and miracles look just the same, but can you tell the difference? When the Lord sent Moses to deliver the Israelites from the Egyptian Pharaoh, Moses was sent with miraculous signs but the magicians also performed their magic,  Exodus 7:10-12.

Would you still be faithful even if there was nothing in it for you? Have you traced your steps to knowing that you really want a relationship with God and not just for what’s in it for you?

Only God can perfect all things and He does it for those who seek Him genuinely and not those who use His name as cover. This is why Seven sons of Sceva decided to take it upon themselves to cast out demons, they thought they could keep getting away with mocking the name of God until a demon question, attacked and humiliated them, Acts19:13-18.

PRAYERS:

  • Thank You Jesus for being everything to me and all I need
  • Thanks for your everlasting love and kindness daily showered on me
  • Forgive my iniquities Lord and help me to live in your presence always
  • I surrender all to you Lord withholding nothing!
  • Help me Lord to diligently seek you and not just for the benefits
  • I cast my burdens unto you Lord, give me all round peace like a river
  • Thank you for going ahead, Father, I am grateful for all!
  • AMEN!
