Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Memory Verse: Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.
Many times, we don’t really have the accurate understanding the word of God. We don’t dwell on it long enough, most times just scraping the surface and never getting that divine understanding and goodness embedded in His word. This results in us continuing to eat the crumbs of people’s knowledge and often this is incomplete because God reveals to human’s only what He want the human to see.
The story of the Elisha and the king of Aram is a typical example of How God operates. HE constantly showed Elisha the plan of the enemies and the king. The king had an intuition that all the disruption to their plan was because Elisha had a way of knowing, the king of Aram got upset, he organised a troop to seize Elisha the prophet so he could go ahead and destroy the Israelite; but some interesting things happened. Even in the midst of all, Elisha had peace, but his servant was in fear. Elisha’s servant lived in complete fear even though he had his master with him. The fear remained until God opened his eyes to see His plans. But because Elisha was in sync with God, He had a better understanding of the situation from the very start and was blessed with peace. 2Kings 6:13-17.
Peace is major in the life of every individual. The absence of peace is worry, fear, anxiety, depression and every terrible thing possible you name it that the devil has poured in the mix. This is why you will see people constantly trying to attain certain levels in life assuming that once they have, they will be at peace. The average individual will set a target of wanting 10 things and once they get to 8, that target then increases to 15, then 20, and they keep going, not knowing where and when to stop. The devil uses his understanding of the formation of man to take advantage of our weaknesses, therefore man continues to live depriving themselves of that God given peace available to all.
If you don’t know the word for your life and situation, you open yourself up for misinterpretation. It’s then easy to have someone else make life decision for you but if you know God, and have an understanding of His word then you will have peace in every situation . You will stop the Constance comparison of using others as a guide of where you ought to be in life and rest on the promises of God for your life.
One of my favourite parts of the bible is found in Philippians 4:11-13 : “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Apostle Paul had peace because he understood the word of God. Just like him, You are never in need. You may want somethings but as a child of God, He says he will supply all your need and if you believe it, the holy spirit will help you get to a state called peace. God is a God of peace, and He blesses his children with peace.
Because the peace of God exceeds human understanding , no matter what the situation is, you’re able to pass through the journey of life without much drama as you live in and for Christ.
