Are You Rightly Positioned?

Then the hand of the Lord was upon me there, and He said to me, “Arise, go out into the plain, and there I shall talk with you.” So I arose and went out into the plain, and behold, the glory of the Lord stood there, like the glory which I saw by the River Chebar; and I fell on my face.

Memory Verse: “Teach me, and I will hold my tongue; Cause me to understand wherein I have erred. Job 6:24.

As days go by in life, things change rapidly without giving warnings ahead. On a good day all might start green, full of hope and the next minute the same completely becomes red, a total block out with no room for maneuver. Such is life on some occasions but in all of these changes, one thing remains constant; that being the fact that the world only operates at the spoken word of God.

A few years ago I was asked to purchase a ticket for a cousin to watch Arsenal play at Holloway Road in North London, I reviewed various prices and began to wonder, why are the prices different? Aren’t you all going to watch exactly the same match and the same set of players kick the ball around? Eventually I realised that some sitting areas afforded fans to see an overall picture of the entire pitch while some other seating position come with angle clarity restrictions and others with variable length of distance to the pitch. For these features, people were willing to pay to be seated in the right positon to capture the full experience and enjoy the match fully.

Knowing where to seat in a stadium may not be something understood by someone like me because I have no clue of what angles are best but if you asked a fan who regularly watch matches at the football stadiums, he or she may be able to give strong analysis and even talk based on experience. Our relationship with God is exactly the same.

For day, weeks, months and years, it’s possible not to hear God because He has given an initial instruction on which every other instruction is dependent and because we have made a decision to remain at our present location, we may simply not hear anything else from God, and at such times we may assume God is silent.

Prophet Ezekiel was being directed by God and only when he followed instruction did he realise the glory of the Lord had been waiting for him. God always goes ahead of us but sometimes our failure to understand and follow instructions may mean we tarry at a phase in life longer than we should.

Can you vividly say you are rightly positioned or have you missed the initial instructions and are have become stuck?

It’s time to retrace your steps and take a decision to go back to God, the only one who understands your life, the world and everything in it. Let the decision to go back this time be with an open heart, listening ears and moldable life so you don’t miss the further instructions from God.
