Lacking Faith!

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

A popular scripture says “He that must come to God must first BELIEVE that He is God”. Some people rhetorically question themselves subconsciously ‘why should I even believe?’ Even some have seen God come through like He showed up for the Israelites but in a way still continue to live in “unbelief”.

With due respect, some might have their reasons for dwindling in their faith levels because when hope is prolonged, the heart weakens but the lack of faith in God can be very dangerous because it’s stands as a major block against us from enjoying His love and abundance. For a fact, faith is the key to receiving from Him.

James 1:6-8 encourages us to have faith whenever we ask God for things. We must be sure that our faith is in God alone. A person with divided loyalty should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. We could easily say this is a consequence for unbelief as it has been simplified to us that when we Ask with faith we receive and when we Ask without faith we will not receive no matter the number of times we repeatedly ask.

God is able to do new things as soon as you ask Him, seek Him and Knock on His door Matt7:7 But unbelief and wavering in faith means your heart is not in the right place with him and all these access might be blocked.

You cannot expect to receive from God when God is your backup plan and not your main source. This attitude gradually ruins your relationship with God because it means you do not believe solely in him but have other side attractions(gods).

James likens anyone with unbelieve as person unstable and such people will only live in Mystery and lack as they have already put themselves in a position of not living in abundance.

Just like every other choices you make in life, lack of faith in God is also a choice. He has given us the ability to build a relationship with Him on a solid rock or build it on the sand, which one have you decided to do?

Lack of faith is a device of the Devil. Do not let him control or manipulate your heart. Even though the Israelites had seen God deliver them from the Egyptians and was safely taking them to the promise land, doing one miracle or the other through Moses, they still doubted Him.

God was unhappy about their lack of faith in Him therefore he pronounced a judgment upon them in Numbers 3210-13 “ Then the Lord was very angry with them, and he vowed, ‘Of all those I rescued from Egypt, no one who is twenty years old or older will ever see the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for they have not obeyed me wholeheartedly. The only exceptions are Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they have wholeheartedly followed the Lord.’ “The Lord was angry with Israel and made them wander in the wilderness for forty years until the entire generation that sinned in the Lord’s sight had died.”

God is looking for those who would follow Him sincerely with all their heart and trust him completely. It is never too late to start all over in faith. Speak to God and make a fresh start to trust Him completely today. The biggest level of faith is in believing at first that He exists and totally obeying all His commandments and instructions. And in a way the word of God describes it, faith only needs to start from a size of a mustard seed which is not even visible without a magnifying lens.

Begin to build up your faith today, start with the little and over time, you will be amazed what level of faith you can get to. Moreover, God will not disappoint you. He is a rewarder of those who have faith in Him.
