The Words Spoken Into Your Life!

“Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don’t return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat. That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do.”

Memory Verse: Words can bring death or life! Talk too much, and you will eat  everything you say. Proverbs 18:21

Some people don’t understand the importance of words and because of this, they joke with spoken words, speak loosely and even curse for fun. When I was a lot younger, I was around a lot of people who spoke loose words and I began to realize that words are like DHL Parcels when spoken and such parcels gets handed over for delivery. When we then accept the delivery and sign for it, we claim ownership of the words delivered.

Spoken words can be liken to arrow shut from the bow which are impossible to recall until it gets to its final destination, something intended by the shooter. Can we return delivery of words? I’ll like to say yes, but the stress involved in returning words, mostly negative words, are more costly than if they were not accepted in the first place. It is therefore important to understand the power of spoken words and the impact they have on the life of whom the word is intended for or directed towards.

Every word that leaves the mouth of a speaker has a power of its own and this is usually based on the desire of the speaker and the purpose of the word.

Sometimes, the speaker has no negative intention, but if a negative word is jokingly spoken, the restless devil who roams around sees that instance as an opportunity to function, all based on a word that has been sent out. David was very successful and had a good relationship with King Saul, until the people started to sing some words which triggered the spirit of anger and Jealousy into His life. Saul became David’s enemy because the people sang “Saul has killed a thousand enemies; David has killed ten thousand!” 1 Samuel 18:7.

The word of God is however the most effective and powerful word that could ever be spoken. God’s word is profitably positive to change lives and sharp enough to counter every negatively spoken words delivered into our lives; those we know and those we have unknowingly taken delivery of.

The question is, do we know the power in the word of God?

Lack of understanding could make us continue to worry even after God has spoken, but the good news is that the word of God is backed up with assurance. We just have to believe and hold unto the word until it delivers that which the Lord has spoken.
