Divided Loyalty!

I am not trying to please people. I want to please God. Do you think I am trying to please people? If I were doing that, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Memory Verse: If you are that kind of person, you can’t make up your mind, and you surely can’t be trusted. So don’t expect the Lord to give you anything at all. James 1:7-8.

People are big on loyalty, we all want to only associate with people who we know have our back and belong to our camp therefore most time people say “you cannot be friends with my enemy and remain my friend”.

This sounds pretty straight forward but some will say they have their own choices to make and cannot be compelled to choose sides. The end result is split loyalty therefore such people do not fully benefit from any of the relationship as they stand halfway through all.

Judas Iscariot was confused in his mind. He could not make up his mind therefore he became the right candidate to be used by the devil to betray Jesus. Though a disciple of Christ, Judas was an inconsiderate thief who stole from moneybag because he didn’t really care about every other person, so where possible, he will count himself as a disciple of Jesus and where necessary, he will blend into the world. John 12:4 – 6.

Paul made it clear to all where He stood.

He wanted the world to know that he had only one Lord and master but most importantly, He made it clear that the minute an individual switches to being man pleasing, they can no longer be a servant of Christ.

Many of us have traded our places with God for the acceptance of man but still continue with the assumption that we can say we are loyal to the person because we know they are of God. The bible tells us differently and we see clearly that the moment the aim to please man, we have drifted away from pleasing God and can no longer claim to be associated with God; and because of this, you cannot benefit from the fulness of being called a child of God.

God is the Almighty and the only one worth being loyal to.
