What is Your Spiritual NetWorth?

Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.  Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

Memory Verse: No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

Success has diverse meanings to different people and most individuals measure them in monetary terms but today let’s visualize it from a spiritual perspective. Can we be spiritually successful? Can we measure it based on having a life filled with God’s given purpose and achievement? While earthly treasures are tangible and beautiful when enjoyed in moderation, spiritual success cannot be evaluated by any man and that’s what makes it even more amazing. Jesus teaches us to store up treasures in heaven Matthew 6:19-21 and whiles it may sound extremely difficult, the bible guides us on what to do.

The way we store up treasures is directly linked to our level of thinking and understanding of God our Father. The parable of the rich fool in Luke 19 :13-21 tells us how the human mind functions most of the time. We are so engrossed in the things of the world that we go on a constant chase for money at every cost and once acquired, we continue to expand our storage capacity.

Whiles the bible is not against enjoying the goodness of life, they are balances to everything. Failing to see that is what leads many astray and we see that in how the world is able to completely distract even the most devoted Christians and before they know it, the spirit of greed begins to drive their every decision.

Serving God is not a decision because it means you have opened for yourself a bank account in heaven and funding that account is not anything you can physically work towards because your human self is only thinking about human achievement. Logically, you do not know your balance, hence you don’t know when you have stored up enough or have less. When you begin to walk with God, the spirit of God begins to direct your every movement and even guides you through becoming heavenly rich. How will you treat the things of God if you knew your account balance in heaven currently seats at £0 but you had £1,000,000 in your savings accounts on earth? What are you really worth, remembering the earthly riches are not eternal?

The win-win for a child of God is to enjoy their fruitfulness on earth and be heavenly rich. You can only begin to have any balance in your heavenly account when you begin to live your life for the glory of God only. Living for the glory of God does not mean being poor on earth but using everything He has given you to worship Him in truth and spirit John 4:24; then only can you begin to fund your heavenly account.

You have to stand in clear position and understand the difference between obsessive accumulation of earthly treasures and stockpiling what is valuable in heaven. Your title, position, fame and wealth on earth has 0 value in heaven if you do not learn to use your possession to love people

Matthew 23:23. A relationship with Jesus and obedience to His word is the only way you are able to build treasures in heaven at all. How then can we have a relationship with someone we know nothing about? How are we able to obey His words if we don’t read or hear them?

Be heaven alert, Focus on what increases your account balance in heaven!
