Bible Text: Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired.”
Memory Verse: Psalms 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”
Having struggled most of my life with body weight management, I often imagined how people with more defined bodies got to the stage of such strength where their body seem to have everything in order. I spent a few years convincing myself until I took the first step towards registering at the gym. Little did I know that I was just acting in my intention and registration is different from attendance, consistency, building targets and achieving them. The mission to change things was what began my journey into strength building.
This journey has lasted over 4years now and though I have failed many times to achieve the excellence I desired from the day of gym registration, I have learnt so much about various things relating to my health and looking back now, I see my registration at the gym four years ago as a step in the right direction. I am still a work in progress.
Most of us in life are just like me because we are human beings and we have desires to build strength in one way or another be it Spiritually or physically. Some will tell you they desire so spend more time studying the word, waiting on God, communicating with God, reaching out and the lists of desires are endless. For some it is a wish list just there somewhere in a compartment waiting to be progressed to the next stage. Ideally everyone desires to be of good stamina and strength and in their own way build it progressively.
The ultimate goal of every Christian should be working towards living like Christ and building strength in Him. That’s not somewhere anyone will get to easily and for a fact, some who gave their lives to Christ as teenagers and died at a very old age continued to work towards this one agenda until death. The key is that they built strength in the Lord daily as they lived and the focus on the Kingdom is what kept them in check all through their life on earth.
Have you ever met a strong person with an easy past? Building strength is definitely not a walk in the park. The more the workout and training you dedicate yourself to in life, the more defined your body physically become. Same it is when it comes to the spiritual realm, the more time you spend dwelling on God’s word, obeying and adhering to His commandments, the more you become spiritually strengthened in the Lord and have a more defined life. Gets to a point where you are identified by the devil as a strong ally of God.
Don’t be deceived, nothing in life comes easy even to wealthy there comes a time in life where your extreme wealth is unable to give you any assurance and the only strength to depend on is that of the Lord.
Are you strength training? Only those who wait on the Lord gets their strength renewed
- Father I thank You for a wonderful day
- Thank you for being my strength like no other
- I receive the grace to better my daily walk with you and build strength in you for the rest of my life
- Father build me o Lord and visit my foundation.
- Forgive my iniquities Lord and let your mercy prevail over judgement
- Thank you Father and in Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.
