Seeking Him In Times Of Doubt!

“The woman ran and told her husband, “A man of God appeared to me! He looked like one of God’s angels, terrifying to see. I didn’t ask where he was from, and he didn’t tell me his name.  But he told me, ‘You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must not drink wine or any other alcoholic drink nor eat any forbidden food. For your son will be dedicated to God as a Nazirite from the moment of his birth until the day of his death. Then Manoah prayed to the Lord, saying, “Lord, please let the man of God come back to us again and give us more instructions about this son who is to be born. God answered Manoah’s prayer, and the angel of God appeared once again to his wife as she was sitting in the field. But her husband, Manoah, was not with her. So she quickly ran and told her husband, “The man who appeared to me the other day is here again!”

Memory Verse: “Why are you frightened?” he asked. “Why are your hearts filled with doubt? Luke 24:38

Many times we have heard God say a thing or two, possibly not to us directly because God uses many mediums to reach us but though one of His prophets and while it may sound like the answer to our prayers we just want a confirmation that this is definitely from God.

In such unsure circumstances where our mind has not fully absorbed what is being said to us and by whom, we may be left in a position of doubt and being a doubter of the word of God is not a good position to be in but whiles we think asking God might anger Him, it may also please Him that you have not reached out to anyone but Him to discuss.

Hearing God is not confusing but the devil has the ability to put you in a position of doubt because he simply does what he knows how to do best, cause a sort of distraction which may make your mind shift and this happens to the best of Christians. Did Moses not dialog with God when he was given the assignment? Of course Moses did but it’s also interesting to know that the devil in that instant reminded Moses of every reason why he was not the right man for the job Exodus 3:11-13. Moses pushed further and asked God for confirmation before fully trusting that God has called and empowered Him for the job, Exodus 4:1-9.

While Moses played “Doubting Thomas” even after two miracles from God, Manoah the father of Samson did not know it was an angel of the lord so he prayed to God for confirmation before proceeding with the instructions given. His prayer was answered and Manoah got clarity of God’s instructions before proceeding. He simply asked to be sure.

We have the direct link to the throne of grace with no intermediary on earth and it is important for us to take our minds off our fears, our doubts, ourselves and shift our focus to God and His word. With this we will be able see the picture of our lives with sharp, all-satisfying, God-glorifying clarity.

The truth is the word of God will never waver of shift so we can be sure that going back to the Father of all truth is the only way to progress successfully in life. If the Lord is speaking to you, there is no need to have any doubt or be in a confused state of to progress or not to progress. Simply search the scriptures and go into prayers. Like Manoah, speak to God and He will give you every confidence you need to progress.

When in doubt, ask God.
