But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built! Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today: that Your eyes may be open toward this [f]temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ‘My name shall be there,’ that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place.

One of the most interesting things about being a child is the lack of worry. Have you tried examining the lives of children in their early years? They appear carefree, very relaxed, absolutely reliant, and they eventually move from full dependency to a phase where they are still dependant on you but start to have and make choices and options. They make demands without the thought of protentional rejection, and they do so confidently. More interestingly, they know things will just happen naturally because they have parents. So, you see a child wake up and naturally wants to eat believing breakfast will be ready on the table; they sometimes get dressed and even go shopping because they know mum and dad as providers who are there to provide and meet their unlimited needs.
As Christians, we behave just like those children in our relationship with God. As our Father, He daily loads us with benefits and gives us access to unlimited resources. The child father relationship makes us feel entitled to God’s unlimited resources. There is no question about the love God has for us and it’s unquestionable He has unlimited access to the things of the world as he created them, but we hold ourselves back by recreating barriers between ourselves and God every time.
The bible talks about access to God and how people of old got through to Him. In the old Testament and under the old covenant, human access to God was very limited and this impacted the things they received because there was an intermediary who could impact what they got. Only the high priest once a year would enter the most holy place to meet directly with God. The veil was torn at the death of Jesus and the barrier from Man to God was removed giving man free access to God through Jesus Matthew 27:51-54, Ephesians 2:13.
Every time we sin, we recreate the barrier therefore separating ourselves from Him again, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God. And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear, Isaiah 59:2” and every story in the bible points toward the situation we put ourselves in; positions that blocks our communication line with God.
In our own limited knowledge, we try box God and limit him because humanly speaking we know just how far a human can go but God is Unlimited in everything; Power, knowledge, provision, abundance, grace, love and the rest alike and as his children we have unlimited access to those things if only can stop trying to understand God and start trying to absorb His word and live according to His will.
We are best positioned for the benefits of having the maker of the universe as our Father “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.
PRAYERS:
- Father I’m acknowledging you for whom you are in my life
- Thank you for your faithfulness and unending kindness
- Help me to focus only on you God and serve no man-made gods or creation
- Draw me nearer and closer to you, help me to maintain communication with you
- Remove every grease in our relationship Lord, let me get to know you more than ever before
- Father let my life be an expression of your grace and let your favour be my portion.
- Forgive my sins Lord and answer my prayers, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
