Bible Text: Matthew 10:30-31 As for you, even the hairs of your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth much more than many sparrows! Read Matthew 10:28-31
Memory Verse: Isaiah 49:16 “Jerusalem, I can never forget you! I have written your name on the palms of my hands.”
Having lived a number of years, I am yet to meet anyone who doesn’t like being special. I have been to only a handful of events and even as a young girl who attended parties with my parents, the celebrant is always the center of attention, except someone else steals the stage. Everyone talks about the celebrant which gives the celebrant a feeling of fulfilment and when being asked how the party went, the celebrant is quick to say “it was a beautiful party, I thank everyone for coming”. Whiles not a lot has changed over the years, a few things have evolved from when I used to be a young girl.
Coming from an African background, parties have now become a big deal. I realised asides the celebrant, attendees of parties now attach so much importance to the way they are being entertained and treated. Parties these days are now held in fancy locations with glamourous decorations and the best of wines and delicacies, it is as if everyone in attendance were Royals. The invited guest now put so much effort into looking their best too and to top it up, the musicians invited often praise and throw exhortations at guests intermittently and this just adds to that special feeling. The underlined fact is that; everyone now feels very important.
Once the event is over and the fancy dresses are taken off, everything returns to normal and then what? are you suddenly not important anymore because the event is over?
As a child of God, you are always important and a royalty, this is because you are always the single most important thing in God’s mind. The party is always about you because God has placed you above every other thing He created on earth and made you only a tiny little bit lower that angels. He handed over all His hard work for 6 days to you, Genesis1:28 and you still don’t know how important you are?
Unlike man, your level of importance is not determined by your net worth. Read the parable of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-35. Your relationship with God is what makes you precious to Him and nothing in the world is capable of depreciating your value.
You are important because you are God’s own.
Join me in saying this ( Mention your name ) The Lord can never forget me! He has written my name on the palms of His hands.

- Father I thank You for your endless blessings throughout this week
- Thank you for being wonderful to me and counting me special
- Help me to fully remain integrated in you Lord
- Forgive my iniquities Lord and let your mercy prevail over judgement
- Thank you Father and in Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.
