Public Declaration!

Public Declaration!

Tuesday, February 4, 2020

Bible Text: Matthew 10:32-33   “For those who declare publicly that they belong to me, I will do the same before my Father in heaven. But if anyone rejects me publicly, I will reject him before my Father in heaven.”

Memory Verse:  2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to win full approval in God’s sight, as a worker who is not ashamed of his work, one who correctly teaches the message of God’s truth.”

Declarations are powerful statements, often made from time to time to affirm a belief or convey messages about various things in life. They are things we firmly state sometimes publicly and other times privately, either way, once a declaration is made, actions seems to follow. They are often classed as a formal and final statement which in most cases cannot be retracted.

Christians often give their life to Christ by acceptance in their heart and public declaration of repentance which instantly qualifies them as being reborn and renamed as followers of Christ can we say that is enough?

Today text gives light on how Jesus talks to his disciple about those who confess and reject Him. The context of His conversation in Mattew10:32-33 are clear an precise and means exactly what He says. We have Jesus our savior seated at the right side of the Father constantly pleading for us with the father Romans 8:34, however when seated at the judgement seat, there will be no room for anymore intercession.

Everyone will be judged by how they lived on earth and one criteria which qualifies us for open acceptance and rejection is simple, living for Him and living with Him in you, an act which involves holiness, obedience to His commandments, taking a public stand for Him and doing greater works than He did while on earth. You will simply harvest what you sow, Christ will say He knows you or not depending on where you stand with Him.

The life of a Christian is not one which can be lived secretly. Once you have found love for the Father, it becomes difficult not to publicly declare your faith and stand for Him. The only barrier to this is will be if you are not fully sure where you stand with God.

The Samaritan woman could not keep still according to John 4 :1-42. She made other Samaritans believe in Jesus by her public declaration of Him. They pleaded with Jesus until He stayed with them two more days and further established their faith in Him. For a fact through the Samaritan woman, others became hungry for fellowship with God and found love for Him.

Does your lifestyle and the way you live publicly portray you as a child of God or are you still a secret Christin who is ashamed of being called one?

I urge you to think deeply about your position with Christ as there can be no lukewarmness or partial Christianity, you either fully in or out, Revelations 3:16.

While public declaration of Christ may not be enough to make Heaven, it’s a starting point to living a life which glorified the father.

PRAYERS:

  • Father I thank You for your love for me, dying for me on the cross that I may have everlasting life
  • I surrender all to you O Lord, help me to publicly stand for you and with you throughout this year 2020
  • Help me to live a grace filled life, be an ambassador of you, walk with you, work for you, touch lives and win souls for you all the days of my life
  • Forgive my iniquities Lord and let your mercy prevail over judgement
  • Thank you Father and in Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.
