Making Decisions!

“When direction from the Lord is needed, Joshua will stand before Eleazar the priest, who will use the Urim one of the sacred lots cast before the Lord to determine his will. This is how Joshua and the rest of the community of Israel will determine everything they should do.”

Memory verse: John 14:6 “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

The world as we know was formed when God made a decision to move the earth from a state of formlessness to beauty. According to Genesis 1:2 His decision to create us in His image has given us some inherited attributes one of which is the ability to make decisions. Adam and Eve made a decision to eat of the forbidden fruit, as a consequence of that God placed a curse on mankind but again the same God in His mercies made a decision to drive us from the bondage Eve’s decision put us all in, He sent His one and only son to redeem us and give us salvation.

Jesus has made a decision to honor the course, and upon ascension to Heaven having fulfilled His task on earth, has kept on pleading for us whiles seated at the right hand of God the Father, Romans 8:34. Likewise, the devil also made decisions, one of which saw him thrown out of heaven, He decided to be against God, set up a kingdom for himself and made a decision more of a vow to continually distort children of God, doing everything to kill, steal and destroy, John10:10.

Our life is as a result of many decisions some of which directly impacts us and others that are just part of the norm of life, but ultimately the decisions we make in life goes a long way in deciding the type of life we live.

Have you made the most important decision in your life yet? Following Jesus is the most important decision you can ever make in your life and postponing to this afternoon might just be too late. All you need to is a declaration that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9. After that, accept Him as your personal Lord and savior, renounce and denounce old ways of sin, and gradually daily walk with Him in righteousness, 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Say a prayer with me
Dear God, I openly declare today that’s Jesus is Lord and believe You raised Him from the dead. Thank you Lord because now I know that I am saved in Jesus name

Every other decision you make at the back of this is secondary but because every detail of our lives are important to God. The Holyspirit our helper begins to guide our every step towards success.

Today’s bible reading tells us when Joshua needed direction, He stood before God and made His decision based on guidance from God. While those decisions might still include the Israelite going on various battles, one thing was certain with them, If the Lord was on their side they will definitely emerge as winners.

Your decision to follow Jesus does not eliminate battles which you may still face daily in life but be encouraged in your spirit because Jesus now has you covered. Yes, there will be difficult times but rejoice because Jesus has conquered the world John 16:33.
