Daily Offering!

“Give these instructions to the people of Israel: The offerings you present as special gifts are a pleasing aroma to me; they are my food. See to it that they are brought at the appointed times and offered according to my instructions. “Say to the people: This is the special gift you must present to the Lord as your daily burnt offering. You must offer two one-year-old male lambs with no defects. Sacrifice one lamb in the morning and the other in the evening.”

Memory Verse: Hebrews13:15 Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.

Offering is an act of worship which a lot of people seem to take for granted. It’s shows you are responding with gratitude to the love and mercy of God in every area of your life and not taking God for granted.

The laws and instructions given to the Israelites particularly about offerings and the frequency in which it should be given shows to a great deal that God delights in our offering when given in the right spirit and even so there were offerings for every and any occasion. If there was no special occasion, then there was a daily offering.  All these offerings were pleasing aromas to the Lord.

In the beginning we see Cain and Abel rendered offerings to God. No one can question the ways of God when it comes to acceptance and in His supremacy, God accepted Abel’s offering but rejected Cain’s. Even though no solid reason was given for the rejection but from the look of things, Cain could have done better in bringing a more acceptable offering and with a thankful heart and less attitude. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Kings, Prophets and other children of God including Mary and Joseph after Jesus was born all gave various offerings to the God.

Your offering is the centerpiece of your worship towards God. It is an expression of simple gratitude and the quality of worship is heart driven. Although Christ has fulfilled the law and given Himself as the sacrificial lamb for believers, we are still to continually offer sacrifices of praises to God through Jesus. Your duty is to continually use your lips to daily offer praises to God.

In Psalm 34:1, King David said,” I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” This tells us that offering to the Lord should not be for special occasions only.

Are you one of those who constantly focus on the problems of the world and forget to even give your daily offering to God? Remember both before the time of Jesus, during His time on earth and after, there has never been a reward for being ungrateful.

If you have not developed the attitude of continuous daily offering to God, I encourage to start today. God loves your daily offering and He responds positively to His children who appreciates Him, declare His faithfulness and exalt His name.

Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord, Glory be to your name, you are good and your mercies endureth forever, your love is unending, I extol you today Lord, you are worthy to be praised, you are the Lord… Continue with your personal offering at every opportunity even when you are not praying, just continue to offer Him praise.

PRAYERS:

  • Father I thank you for your word that gives life and understanding for the simple
