God Is Never In A Hurry But Always On time!

Then Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.” “Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.” So Jesse sent for him. He was dark and handsome, with beautiful eyes. And the Lord said, “This is the one; anoint him.” So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah.

Memory Verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart; Proverbs 3:5a

Sometimes I wonder why we rush, often it’s as if we are chasing after something or something is chasing us; either way there is this rush every day. This rush atmosphere is usually driven by the environment we find ourselves. There is the social media buzz everywhere and everyone is posting something online to showcase achievement, success, stories and generics. Whiles some people don’t post on social media as often as others, it is interesting to know that even those people spend a lot of time checking out what others have posted and as a result they sometimes unconsciously examine their life’s progress comparing it with what they see on social media platforms which then leads to questions like why me Lord? When is it my time? Why, why, why.

Every story we read in the bible about God coming through for someone has never been driven by competition or comparison. God created every individual uniquely and has embedded in us what need to function in our space and as such, we see Samuel becoming a Prophet whiles David a minister of songs. Evidently, they were two important people to God but could only be made perfect in their own calling.

What has God called you to do? Even in your calling it takes God’s time for your life to be made perfect not your own time.

The story of David as a boy is one which is interesting to meditate on. The Lord’s anointing on David’s life happened when he was just a young boy and should David have hurried into taking over from Saul before God’s appointed time then David would have been possibly killed or failed in his role.

God’s word in your life and His promises are not one you can rush into. He gives us His word so we have them to hold on to and know that He has good plans for our destiny but it’s not for us to try rush into what we think is the fulfillment of God’s promise. We are to be like David and remain diligent in our current state. There is no rush with God but He is always on time because He owns times, seasons and everything in His hands.

Don’t rush into failure, it’s better to wait on the Lord and see Him come through for you in grand style than spend your days getting hurt from mistakes you make because of a rush. Ask Saul and he will tell you how he rushed by possibly just a few minutes and that altered his whole life. Saul could not wait just a little more and he was pressured into carrying out a sacrifice himself and for this reason the Lord sent a message to Him through prophet Samuel “How foolish!” Samuel exclaimed. “You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. Had you kept it, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.  But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.”1Samuel 13:13-14

Say this loud, I am working with God’s time, there is no rush and in God’s time He will perfect everything that concerns me.

At times everything in life may make us feel like we are lacking behind but the attitude we need to have is to always remember that as a child of God, we are good enough, we are qualified because God says so. We need to keep believing we will not fail because God has us covered. We have to keep trusting in Him with all our heart.
