“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”
Memory Verse: John 14:26 “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you.”
The Past few days are usually very emotional. It brings a combination of mixed feelings for most Christians as it reminds us of the good bad and ugly, the experience Jesus went through. A few things are brought to our remembrance, while Jesus was out teaching and doing good all through His time on earth, He was constantly being questioned, challenged, rejected, and this was non- stop until the enemy found a way to get rid of Him.
The story of the life of Jesus from birth to death is filled with various events which could get anyone thinking “what’s the point?” But for Jesus His life and the whole point was so that we could be saved. John 3:16 tells us that “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
God’s love for us is unending and the bible tells us He loved us to the point of doing everything possible to redeem us from the power that sin has over our lives. Jesus had to go through all that rejection, torture and pain so that we could through His blood she’d have a right standing with God.
Jesus has paid the sacrifice and all we have to do is “Rejoice”. Yes, the death of Jesus was a fulfilment of God’s promised as told to his earthly father, Joseph. “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
Jesus was only at a place at a time while on earth but as a result of His death, He was able to send us the Holyspirit which is with us constantly all day every day and as a result we have the ability to be constantly connected to the father.
The death of Jesus was so that we could be saved and have the spirit of God constantly navigating us. As Children of God, unless we absorb those benefits then we are rendering useless all the sacrifices that was paid for us. We are then like a child sent to the most expensive independent school for quality education who chooses to go to the school but never concentrate in class and as a result fails until he/she drops out.
Ask yourself today, am I absorbing the benefits of the His death? If you are not saved then it will be impossible to have access to your helper “the Holyspirit “ John 14:15-18 so the first step is “are you saved ?” . “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
There is power in the blood of Jesus but you have the duty of keying into it.
- Father I thank you for your sacrifice of Love, the greatest love of all
- Thank you for dying on the cross, for sending me the holy spirit and giving me eternal life.
- I receive the grace to walk with you till the end, to love and appreciate you.

- Thank you for your love, for all you have done for me and have given me in gifts, talents and grace
- Thank you for giving me dominion and power to conquer
- Help me Lord to run the race till the end and not lose my crown.
- Forgive me Lord of all my iniquities, bless me abundantly and make me a blessing unto others, in Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen
