Do Not Deny God His Glory!

Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.  I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”

Memory Verse: Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” Luke 10:17.

Many at times we call ourselves children of God and yet still, we live in fear of uncertainty. We are not only distracted by what’s happening in the world, but we absorb those distractions into our system and start to operate by the standard set by the world, resulting in us operating way below our God given capacity.

Let’s say an individual acquires and iPhone and goes for the 1 Terabyte storage capacity, such individual can be perceived to need a lot of storage space for various reasons. For clarity, 1 TB equals 1,000 gigabytes (GB) or 1,000,000 megabytes (MB).  If about a year later, less than 5GB is used up of the 1TB storage, the capacity is without doubt underutilized and even more interestingly, if the individual is a first time iPhone user, upgraded from a device of 500mb or 1GB storage to 1TB, they clearly don’t know the level they can go with such storage capacity and till they start to become adventurous and using up the space, I could jokingly say iPhone will not be proud of them.

Children of God sometimes can be like that but in this situation, this is more serious than joking. We say we know God and operate with he standard of the world. We confess with our mouth that which is written in the scriptures and say we have total confidence in God, yet we live our everyday life denying God the glory He deserves. When God instructed Ezekiel to prophesy and he did, only then was he able to see God power and possibilities in action.

When we do anything less than maximising our God given potential, we are being ignorant of the level at which we can go and the level at which God can be glorified through us. We are scared of the what ifs of the world and think ok if God doesn’t come through then we may be seen as a liar or worse still be embarrassed.

Remember, the goal is not to become big in ourselves or become recognised, the goal is to Glorify God. Should God want to be glorified in that situation, He definitely will be; we may have just been sent on that assignment to plant and someone else to water, only then will He give the expected increase. You will be blessed, and He will be glorified. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labour. 1 Corinthians 3:6-8.
