It All Begins From The Heart!

Bible Text: Matthew 15 :18-20  “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”

Memory Verse:  Proverbs 4:23 NKJV “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.”

Our heart is the powerhouse of so many things. Scientifically It’s the most important part of the body as it is responsible for pumping blood around the body which makes living things remain functional. With advanced technologies and scientific discoveries an individual can only ever survive with a heart if they are given an artificial heart via surgery and even that is a temporary fix so ultimately it’s impossible to live without a heart.

Interestingly, the heart being the most important part of the body is invisible to the human eye. Our body serves as a shelter for all the organs that keeps us functioning, it’s only just a cover and the real you resides in your heart. This is why we see God relate and deal with individuals based on the content of their heart. The scripture did emphasize that no one knows the heart of a man.

Your heart is the Center of your life because it carries your thoughts, emotions and most things responsible for building up your life. It’s so important that Solomon tells his son to “Protect” his heart because your thought leads you to make decisions which results either to achievement or failure.

According to Genesis 6:5-6, the scriptures highlights that when God saw the intentions of men through the state and content of their heart, He was so full of regret creating man. He then made a decision to wipe man away from the surface of the heart due to how corrupt their hearts were. This birthed the bible event of Him sending a flood to wipe out the entire human race, except Noah and his family’s because Noah’s heart was in a right state with God. Genesis 7.

When you see an individual and want to know them, it is important you start having conversation with that individual and observe how they think. It can be really difficult to make decision about who you think a person is based on what you see them do because a person is physically capable of doing something else while thinking another in their heart. Prophet Jeremiah says ““The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV.

When you a become a child of God, what changes is your heart. It becomes transformed by God and as you begin to feed yourself with so much of Gods words, gradually the way you process things changes which then affects your type of person, without you even noticing it. You don’t get to become a new baby like Nicodemus thought in John 3:1-3, but your good heart begins to affect your physical actions and reactions positively, an act which cannot be hidden to man, Matthew 5:15-16.

It could lead to a change amongst your circle of friends, positively impact your demeanor, way of life and a host of others, because you suddenly have an understanding of the Kingdom and that peace of mind that no one else is able to understand or give, John 14:27

God has a wonderful plan for your life but first your heart has to be in the right place with Him. Determine to keep a clear and right mind with God today and experience a life of great transformation.
