Thoughts And Actions!

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’  But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.”

Memory Verse: Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Proverb 4:23.

What drives your actions? Do you do things just as they come to mind or are you more of an impulsive person, doing things without even thinking about it or planning for it? Let’s take a moment to see how the average human thinks. The mind is very complex and receives information both internally and externally. This information is then processed by the brain and translates into how we react to almost everything around us. So therefore, the bible clearly defines a man as what’s inside of him and not necessarily how the word perceives or sees him. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7.

Walking with God can begin with an emotional decision, either from attend a fellowship, respond to an alter call, have an encounter like Saul turned Paul and make those declaration with the desire to follow Jesus. While some people understand the words, many simply at this stage just go with the flow but then something changes as we declare the words in Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”. At this stage, there is joy in heaven over the action taken, based on our thoughts.

The state of our heart drives a lot of our actions and even though we may sometimes try to consciously maneuver, there are times when what we house inside of us drives us further away from the presence of God. The Lord looks more closes to what’s on the inside of us as who we really are and therefore it’s important to continue to let only what’s truly acceptable to God live inside our heads.

Anger, Malice, Hatred, and the rest alike can be masked with a smile, but those smiles do not exclude the sins which holds us back. God is interested in our actions but He’s even more interested in us living truly for him inside and out.
