“This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Pergamum: I am the one who has the sharp double-edged sword! Listen to what I say. I know you live where Satan has his throne. But you have kept true to my name. Right there where Satan lives, my faithful witness Antipas was taken from you and put to death. Even then you did not give up your faith in me. I do have a few things against you. Some of you are following the teaching of Balaam. Long ago he told Balak to teach the people of Israel to eat food that had been offered to idols and to be immoral. Now some of you are following the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Turn back! If you don’t, I will come quickly and fight against these people. And my words will cut like a sword.”

The letter to this church is one which for a minute got me confused for they stayed strong in the face of procession but a few of them started to compromise so the began to let the world dilute the word of God and presented it as acceptable.
The church in Pergamum is associated with many Christian’s today and particularly those in authority . Jesus is aware of the location He has position you, He knows that you live and work in a place of temptation .He knows you just exactly all the temptations you are experiencing as a believer in the world today and He has a record of all you have done to persevere for the Gospel however your duration of dwelling is not now a reason for compromise.
Many will say but i have been a faithful Christian for all these years but I have seen all the worse things happening to believers so I better just live my life and those type of statements are just the begining of compromises. The believer then begins to gradually compromise slowly just like Balaam’s teaching , they begin to remodel sin making it more acceptable and physically reasonable.
We know a sin is unacceptable when presented out rightly but what about when sin is remodelled, does it now become acceptable?
Many align with the church in Perganum and are now being astray, embracing ungodly doctrines as a way of life. False teachings are now gaining a stronger root even in churches and believers are so much rooted into the environment that they completely miss the instruction from God in testing every spirit.

- Father forgive my iniquities Lord, help me to live right before you and for you
- Let my life be full of your blessings, miracles and breakthrough this year,
- Help me to live in spiritual genuineness, worship you wholeheartedly and make my service worth of eternity
- Help me to be faithful and live a sinfree life
