Your Progression Is Dependent On You!

“David, this is what I, the Lord All-Powerful, say to you. I brought you in from the fields where you took care of sheep, and I made you the leader of my people. Wherever you went, I helped you and destroyed your enemies right in front of your eyes. I have made you one of the most famous people in the world.”

Memory verse: The servant who had been given 5,000 coins brought them in with the 5,000 that he had earned. He said, “Sir, you gave me 5,000 coins, and I have earned 5,000 more.” Matthew 25:20.

I have been down a few times worrying so much about why and how it seems like my life is stagnant. That stage of life that seem like a big deal five years ago has now become a stage that worries me because I have evolved. It’s a typical example of a single lady who lives in a one-bedroom apartment and felt like she was living her best life, but she gets married and pregnant only to be told she was expecting twins. The one bedroom that was such a joy to reside in, now feels so uncomfortable and unsuitable for the new status. An individual in that position has made progress and due to that change in status and progression, they may quest for an upgrade.

This is the story of David who joyfully took care of sheep. David enjoyed what he did for His dad and became so confident that even while’s being a shepherd, he mastered the act of leading so much that he had time to go and fight with Goliath. David was not a struggling Shepherd before the big fight that changed his destiny.  In fact he was a very good shepherd.

Remember the lady earlier, the single comfortable one in a one bedroom apartment, let’s see what qualified her for a upgraded change of apartment:

  1. She got married.
  2. She got pregnant.
  3. She delivered babies.

Those are major transformational changes that naturally entitles one to expansion. The difference is many of us spend so much time praying and fasting but never really become good shepherds of our own life, but only act entitled to those things.

David was first a good shepherd guiding, protecting the herd of sheep before he began to Shepard human beings. His area of focus changed but he already had the skills required to deliver.

What is your spiritual, physical, financial status right now? Will you trust yourself with the next stage of your life?

Remember the parable of the coins; the one who had 5,000 coin was given 5,000 more but the one who showed he was incapable of managing 1,000 con was left with nothing. If you truly desire progression, start by showing that you have become a good Shepard of the things currently in your care.
