Your Value As A Christian!

“The time of prayer was about three o’clock in the afternoon, and Peter and John were going into the temple. A man who had been born lame was being carried to the temple door. Each day he was placed beside this door, known as the Beautiful Gate. He sat there and begged from the people who were going in. The man saw Peter and John entering the temple, and he asked them for money. But they looked straight at him and said, “Look up at us!” The man stared at them and thought he was going to get something. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold! But I will give you what I do have. In the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, get up and start walking.” Peter then took him by the right hand and helped him up. At once the man’s feet and ankles became strong,”

Memory Verse: “If you love money and wealth, you will never be satisfied with what you have. This doesn’t make a bit of sense.” Ecclesiastes 5:10.

The world has become material based and most people living in it are therefore moved by material things and as a result, people’s worth are assumed to be based on how they look, what they wear or what they use. Hence, the western world creates a credit system that gives everyone the ability to own that which we cannot afford and charge us interest to live the dream.

This gives us a sense of ownership. When an individual  purchases a car on credit and drives it to see friends, they automatically place some level of worth on that person, so the world sees them as having a lot of value, but in real sense, the one with the highest Value is the financial company who owns the vehicle.

This man at the beautiful gate was there and asked people at the gate for money. Money was all he asked for despite constantly sitting at the gate of a prayer temple. For all these years He was more fixated on getting money from people and not healing from God because He had placed value on the people instead of focusing on God.

Even more surprising is that He knew how to praise God and we know this because soon as He was healed, He started praising God.

How could a man who knows how to praise be so material focused? “and he jumped up and started walking. He went with Peter and John into the temple, walking and jumping and praising God.” Acts 3:8.

We are all guilty of placing worth on material things because they are tangible but what is more tangible than the life we live and have in Jesus?

That name Jesus has the greatest value above anything thing money can buy, so above all, focus your eyes on God and put your complete trust in Him.

Your value as a Christian is not based on those material things you own but in the name of Jesus which gives the highest Value and adds the best value to anyone’s life .

Prayers:

  • Father you are Yahweh, and you are Jireh.
  • Thank you for your love, peace and kindness showered on me.
  • Forgive me O Lord of all my trespasses and help me to forgive trespassers.
  • Help me to Lord to focus solely on you Lord and not on material things.
  • Help me from today to acknowledge you in all things and be more passionate.
  • Help me Lord to wait on your time and not on my time.
  • Thank you Lord for everything, in Jesus Name I pray, Amen
