God Understands Your Troubles!

At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah. One of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, holding it up to him on a reed stick so he could drink. But the rest said, “Wait! Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him. Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit.

Memory Verse: Psalms 147:3 “He heals the broken-hearted and bandages their wounds.”

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel God has abandoned you or quiet and not forthcoming as you would have expected? Just to lift your spirit, you are not alone, many Christians experience this, but the beautiful thing is, God is still Omnipotent. Building a relationship with God is a lifestyle that can sometimes be impossible to understand by others. We have not physically seen Him face to face, yet we believe He exists, we trust in Him, we walk and talk to Him spiritually, all by faith. Even when there is doubt, His word reassures us that we are not seeking Him in vain and out expectations will not be cut short.

It is understandable when we have episodes in our lives where we start asking God where is your face? Why me? Why won’t you help me? Why is this happening to me? God Why are you silent about my case? God I’m I important? At times it could get to a point where unbelief surfaces; “God do you even exist?” how can You say You do and you watch this person die or you allow this happen to me? a common saying which I often hear unbelievers and atheists use. It’s no doubt it sorely hurts when we experience personal pains from the feeling of being forsaken, interestingly while God the son, Jesus, was on earth going through His trials and tribulations which led to our salvation, God the Father has all ability to immediately stop His horrific suffering when Jesus requested the cup be taken away from Him, yet God did not’; He had his reasons and was able to help Jesus through the forbearance. When Jesus suffered on the cross, God was silent.

Because God was silent didn’t mean God is not being helpful, has become worthless or is not seeing the situation. He understands, sees all and knows when best to act. God absolutely understands your pains, He gets it. Remember He created you, so he is aware of all that happens or is bound to happen to you. He has promised not to let you drown in deep waters or consumed by fire or flames kindled upon you; He has promised to hold you by His right hand of righteousness and give you victory on all sides; but all in His time and according to His will. Like a manufacturer knows his products, God knows you in and out, all you need to do is just wait on Him; asking for the grace to be patient.

It was out of God’s love for us that Jesus was forsaken and left to die. It was not easy to let one whom you call your own begotten son to die, yet He left Jesus and was silent when Jesus called out. God has human feelings and in the same manner, He has plans for your life. There is an assurance that He loves you too much to ever forsake you, Deuteronomy 31:6.

So beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I encourage you today, irrespective of how extreme situations may get or how unpleasant it may get, continue knocking on heavens doors, don’t cease from dwelling on his word and hold fast to the belief that He will come through for you when the time is right. Remember Lazarus was late(dead) but Jesus was not late. No situation is written off for a child of God unless God says so. He said even when your father and mother has forsaken you. The LORD will take care of you. Psalms 27:10.

God has promised to take care of us, He is true to His words and assuredly, He can never lie, because He is more than Man. Numbers 23:19.

Please continue to wait on the Lord!! Psalm 27:14.

Prayer:

· Father, thank you for your love and compassion for me

· Thank you for always fighting my seen and unseen battles victoriously

· Thank you for your blessings that never cease

· I receive the grace and strength to wait patiently on you in difficult times

· Help me never to forsake you for the Lord of the world.

· Father I thank you for the forgiveness of sins and answers to prayers, In Jesus name I Pray, Amen

Have a restful weekend and remain blessed.
