Temptation Will Always Come!

You are tempted in the same way that everyone else is tempted. But God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and he will show you how to escape from your temptations.

Memory verse:

“Even if you think you can stand up to temptation, be careful not to fall.”1 Corinthians 10:12

Have you ever been tempted ? When did you think you were last tempted? It may be difficult for an individual to randomly answer that question because often we assume that temptation are only those things we physically see and react to. This is the reason why a man / woman sees someone, walks past and lust over them but assume that because there is no physical connection then they feel they are any better than those who are caught in the act. Matthew 5:28.

Temptation often times are right in our thoughts and wining off those thoughts have nothing to do with the physical contact or action but wining the battles of the mind and overall overcoming temptation starts with what we nurture in our hearts. The aftermath is the physical reasons which is visible to the world, but the overall exercise is completed before the world even sees or knows about it.

Lucifer did not physically complete his intention as that would have been a disaster hence his judgment was based on what he thought in his heart. Isaiah 14:13-14.

Eve had already fallen into temptation the moment she engaged with the devil and her eyes saw the forbidden fruit differently.

“The woman stared at the fruit. It looked beautiful and tasty. She wanted the wisdom that it would give her, and she ate some of the fruit. Her husband was there with her, so she gave some to him, and he ate it too. Genesis 3:6

Temptation is normal and will always come as long as we live and is not limited to once in a lifetime. It’s almost an everyday thing but if we are ignorant of the devices of the devil, we won’t even know the devil is at work and will fall daily for temptation.

Everytime, you disobey God, you have fallen for temptation.
Everytime, you don’t act in accordance with the word of God, you have fallen for temptation.
Everytime, you choose to glorify yourself above the things of God, you have fallen for temptation.
Everytime your action does not align with loving God; you have fallen for temptation.
Everytime, you fail to love your neighbour, you have fallen for temptation.

Temptation is not limited and does not follow a pattern, therefore unless you walk with God, then the devil makes falling into temptation look normal.

What are those things that look normal but are actually not? Take an action to start walking with God and He will open your eyes to His will. The more of God you have in you, the less you will fall into temptations, either big or small.
